My nephew has a press kit for the new movie & I was watching the trailers last night. Looks like it's gonna be pretty funny. Yes, I'm a big SpongeBob fan... ;D I'll have to take the kids to see it so I'll have an excuse to watch it.

My stepson has the first season on DVD and I've been watching that with him as I'd heard of the show, but never seen it on TV. At first I was like, "What the fuck?", but it's actually been growing on me. It's pretty funny stuff.

Well, I took the kid to see the SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS movie and it was pretty funny. It literally is an extended version of the tv show. Other than the cameo appearance of David Hasselhoff and a pretty big movie star who provides a supporting voice, there really isn't anything here that couldn't have been done on the series. If you're a fan of the show, then check it out. To anyone else I would say, why are you paying to see this if you've never watched it for free on television?? It's silly and fairly pointless, just like the show. The kids in the audience seemed to love it though, and my stepson thought it was great! And really, with this movie, isn't that who really counts? It really did have several laugh out loud moments though, so even parents will find something to enjoy. My score: 7/10 My stepson's score: 8.5/10 ;D

My brother took the kids to see it. He said he didn't think it was as funny as the show was. I'm sure he'll buy it for the kids when it comes out on dvd so I'll just catch it then.

Interesting. I didn't think it was really any different from the show at all. Just longer.

I have watched some Spongebob, but I have no small children to take so I can't justify seeing the movie. Sounds like I can wait till it's on TV someday.

Come on, you don't need any kids to take...you're never too old for cartoons!! ;D You're right! I work from home now, and I finished early and went to see it with my fiance. It was fun seeing such a huge SPONGE on the big screen. I'm glad I saw it in the theater. It was goofy and light.
