I'm gonna be catching the midnight showing, and I'm kinda surprised at how little we're talking about it here...
I'm kinda scared. For one, the trailer makes it appear as though there's a major plothole in the trilogy - I'm hoping there's an explanation as to how Sandman got away so fast after killing uncle Ben and why the thug from part one was driving uncle Ben's car.
Another thing that worries me is how many storylines Raimi is attempting to tackle with this one. I'm walking in with lots of caution after last year's X-Men III which took on two storylines, added on lots of mutants, and took away any kind of depth or development.
I'm kind of afraid this might happen in Spider-Man. Three villains, three interesting storylines... I have all the respect in the world for Sam Raimi, mind you. The man brought us Ash Williams (along with Bruce Campbell), he'll always be cool in my book. But will he be able to maintain the strength of the first two movies while going after so much in 2 hours and 20 minutes?
Don't get me wrong. I'm excited about this movie. Really, I am. Aside from the glaring plothole, the trailer looked fantastic, and I'm always up for a Sam Raimi flick. So what do you guys think?

Just bought tickets online for me and the Mrs. Wasn't planning to see it until Sunday afternoon, but she put the bug in my ear of "Why don't we go tonight at midnight?". That's pretty much all it took and I was on the computer and logged into my movietickets.com account. Loved the first two movies and I'm really looking forward to this one. As for the Sandman/Uncle Ben "plothole", we should probably stop calling it that until we actually see the movie and find out if it truly is a plothole. I'm going to put my faith in the writers and that they've got it all figured out in a plausible manner.

Alright, here goes - I saw Spidey 3 and liked it. Better than #2, not as much as #1.
The main problem for me was the oh-so-sugary performance of Maguire - I just couldn't watch him when he was watching MJ singing in the theatre. Fortunately, he did get better when the movie turned darker. And also - Kirsten Dunst, Thomas Haden Church and Topher Grace were pretty good in their roles; Bryce Dallas Howard - as cute as she is - didn't have enough of a role. The effects were alright but... it's more and more difficult to impress me with this comic-book-looking, visibly artificial CG. The first movie impressed me more as it was fresh and surprising; no surprises here but it all looks okay.
The Bruce Campbell cameo fine, on the other hand - I'd like to see a whole new Raimi movie that has this much charm and humour in it.
