Difficult, isn't it? Still, I think I'd like to go and see Sin City as soon as possible; with the cool cast and Rodriguez at the helm it should be something more special than special. And let's not forget they promise us that the movie will look like none other comic book adap before.

I went ahead and voted Sin City as well because I think it's going to stay true to the comic (one of my favorites!) and I do like the cast/look/director.
Of course, I'm interested in the new Batman movie and looking forward to that as well.
The others are just too far off for me to vote on....

I'm gonna go with BATMAN BEGINS. Between the concept, director & cast, it has the potential to be one of the best comic book movies of all time, let alone the best Batman movie. Like Phoenix said, the rest are just too far in the distance for me to have a serious opinion about. Though I plan too, I've never read "Sin City" so I'm not yet that excited about this project. Also looking forward to SUPERMAN with Singer at the helm.

I went w/ Sin City...I"ve never read the comics BUT it's Rodriguez so it got my vote. Batman Begins would be my second choice.

Last time I was in a bookshop I looked inside Sin City and... didn't like it too much. Not my type of a comic book - I prefer more detailed drawing than this.
The movie should rock, though!

Perhaps you didn't like it b/c it's all black/white? I think Frank Miller is a fantastic artist. Plus the story is great...did you read any of it?

I haven't read any of it, no. But in comic books I have to accept the pictures first of all - and the ones in Sin City didn't strike me as especially interesting. Black and white doesn't bother me much - one of my favourite comic books of all time is in b/w. Seems we just disagree here. Below - comic book style I like most.

These are excerpts from two most popular comic books in Poland - Schninkel and Thorgal - drawn by Grzegorz Rosinski; Thorgal is a 20-volume saga that nicely mixes fantasy, sci-fi and horror - if you could find it anywhere (I'm not sure it's available in the States) you're in for a treat!

Some news on Superman (2005):
Bryan Singer, who is directing the upcoming new Superman movie, told Los Angeles radio station KROQ that the movie will center more on a Superman "several years after he's arrived and done many heroic deeds," with only a vague history sketched out in flashbacks, according to a report on Zap2it.com. Production is scheduled to begin in February, with a summer 2006 release planned, the site reported.
Singer added that he settled on unknown actor Brandon Routh to play the Man of Steel to introduce an actor whose acting history wouldn't interfere with creating an indelible Superman image. Singer said he considered Tom Welling, who plays Clark Kent on The WB's Smallville, but said that the budget and the direction of the film weren't right to make what would seem like a Smallville feature. "Even though he's existing and carrying the torch through a certain point of the character's life," the new Superman will be a "separate entity," Singer said.

I thought they aren't. Ah, that's a shame. In France and Belgium they were very successful, so I've no idea why they wouldn't try to earn even bigger bucks and translate the series into English. I was re-reading last several albums recently - pure pleasure, I tell you!
If I get some information about Thorgal getting the translation it deserves - I'll let you know!

I went with Spidery-Man 3. I love those movies (because of Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell, you know).
What I'd really like to see filmerized is Watchmen. But not a motion picture--it's too deep and complex a story for that--I'd like to see it in a 6 or 12 part series straight to HBO or Showtime or something. Like Band of Brothers (which, um, I still need to see).
Watchmen is, in my opinion, the single best comic/graphic novel, and especially, the best "superhero" story ever written. It rules!

From cnn.com:
Thomas Haden Church, who was nominated for an Academy Award for best supporting actor in "Sideways," has been cast as Spidey's new archenemy in the next chapter of the "Spider-Man" franchise.
Director Sam Raimi made the annoncement Monday along with producers Laura Ziskin and Marvel Studios' Avi Arad.
"Spider-Man 3," which is scheduled for release May 4, 2007, will reunite the team that was responsible for the first two blockbuster films, which combined to gross more than $1.5 billion in worldwide ticket sales.
The new film will again star Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and Kirsten Dunst is expected to reprise her role as Mary Jane Watson. Production on "Spider-Man 3" is scheduled to begin early next year.
"In addition to the ongoing relationship between Peter Parker and M.J., these films are driven by the great actors who have brought our villains to life," Raimi said. "Thomas Haden Church will be a fantastic and challenging new nemesis, and we all look forward to working with him."
The filmmakers are not revealing the identity of the new villain.
Church is voicing one of the characters in the upcoming animated film "Charlotte's Web," and he recently appeared in Columbia Pictures' "Spanglish."
The actor's other credits include the films "George of the Jungle," "3000 Miles to Graceland," "Monkeybone" and "Tombstone." In 2003, he starred in, co-wrote and directed the comedy "Rolling Kansas." On the small screen, Church played Lowell Mather on the NBC series "Wings" from 1990-95 and starred on the 1995-97 Fox comedy "Ned and Stacey."
My question: Which villian will he be?

From IMDB:
Sideways star Thomas Haden Church's villainous alter-ego in the new Spider-Man movie has been revealed, if internet gossip is to be believed. The Oscar nominee will play Venom in Spider-Man 3 in 2007, according to the Pressconnects.Com website. Venom won't be the only Spider-Man arch-enemy in the second sequel - Daniel Gillies' John Jameson character will become Manwolf in the film, according to the reports.
I had a feeling it might be Venom. Of course, this could all be BS. John Jameson becoming Manwolf follows the comic book storyline so that's cool, but he was never a "major" villain. And what about the fact that Harry Osborn found daddy's Green Goblin costumes and arsenal in SPIDER-MAN 2?? Don't they have to follow that up?? Plus, Dr. Connors was mentioned by name in the first SPIDER-MAN and even put in an appearance in SPIDER-MAN 2. It's well know to comic fans that he will one day become Spidey nemesis, The Lizard. So many seeds being planted for future villains and possible storylines. And there are still many more villains that have the possibility of appearing in future Spidey movies, long after Tobey Maguire hangs up the tights, ie: The Vulture, Sandman, Mysterio, Black Cat, Hobgoblin, The Rhino, Electro and many more. Outside of possibly Batman, Spidey probably has the greatest collection of super villains in the world of comic books. I just don't want it to get like the BATMAN movies with two or three villains per film. By the time of the debacle, BATMAN AND ROBIN, we had villains, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy & Bane all facing off against the Dynamic Duo. Definitely overkill.
