Oh, alright: #17 is Attack Of The Clones. #19: think less violence and grander scale. Second #19: think newer still.

Ah, THE ABYSS. You know, looking at the photo for the second #19, I still don't know what it is. Here are a couple of guesses for some of the others: #21"The film is a huge, rousing finale that resolves all plot twists, settles all accounts, reunites old friends and sweeps to a climax that all but blows the theater apart!" RETURN OF THE JEDI? #21"Ten minutes into this film and I wanted out too." ESCAPE FROM N.Y.? #24"The biggest letdown since the Clinton presidency!" EPISODE I: THE PHANTOM MENACE?

I believe the first 19 is The Abyss, and the second 19 is Pitch Black.

...the second 19 is Pitch Black. Yes, it is! And you're both right about The Abyss. Heineken is also spot-on about the Star Wars movies (#21 - Return Of The Jedi, #24 - The Phantom Menace). And as for the other #21 - "Ten minutes into this film and I wanted out too" - this 'want out' part is to be taken very literally. Very.

Oh my god!!! WHY THE HELL... sorry, calm... calm... Has anyone here actually seeeeeen Solaris? If so how is it on the "top" sci fi movies list??? Shouldn't it be at the bottom. It's as if someone saw 2001 and Event Horizon and decided to take the worst bits of both and made this hideous waste of time and effort out of them. YUCK! I expected better from you guys. I see my votes were missed!

I expected better from you guys. I see my votes were missed! Oh, they sure were, mightyalgo! ;D Remember to stay with us next year around this time when we're going to update this list, will you? Throughout this year though... you'll just have to accept Solaris as our #15. Sorry for this...

"...the second 19 is Pitch Black." Woo Hoo! ;D Love the pic of Cole Hauser from the movie that you put up there.

Mightyalgo, I just want to go on the record and say that I have never seen SOLARIS therefore I didn't vote for SOLARIS. ;D I am amazed that this movie was #15 on the list as it was a huge flop at the box office and I just didn't think that many people had seen it, let alone enough folks on this board to vote it so high. Does no one remember ROBOCOP or THE ROAD WARRIOR or ESCAPE FROM N.Y. or TOTAL RECALL or PREDATOR or CLOCKWORK ORANGE or any of the STAR TREK movies?? I would've expected any one of those to make the countdown before things like SOLARIS or ALIEN 3. I'm fairly shocked.

Woo Hoo! ;D Love the pic of Cole Hauser from the movie that you put up there. I didn't want to put a commonplace pic of good old Vin there... but you wouldn't mind that one either, livingdeadgirl? And since we're at it: Cole Hauser was great in Pitch Black! Solaris is a very mysterious movie that puts you in a trance if you allow it to. Three of our members - myself included - experienced just that apparently and I'm very glad it closes Top 15 thanks to their votes. To answer Heineken, First of all, please rent Solaris and tell us if it's worthy or not in your opinion. Secondly, the movies you mentioned were, in fact, forgotten by our members; time is a cruel beast, you know. RoboCop: 4 points, 3 votes Star Trek: The Wrath Of Khan: 1 point, 1 vote Star trek: Generations: 3 points, 1 vote A Clockwork Orange: 4 points, 1 vote The Road Warrior: 1 point, 1 vote Escape From New York: 1 point, 1 vote Only the Arnold's movies you mentioned fared a bit better: Total Recall: 7 points, 3 votes Predator: 7 points, 1 vote

Oh, I will. I'll make it a point to see all the movies that made the forum's list that I haven't seen. From the top 15 they are: 10. EQUILIBRIUM 15. SOLARIS
And I own 12 out of the 15 movies in my video/DVD collection. ;D

Well, out of the 25 titles I haven't seen 2 (#16 and the first #21... I'm careful with pronuncing the titles aloud because of, you know, those brutes from the Movie Police). How many of the 25 do I own on DVD? Three. Long way from here to Heineken.

#21"Lang nos mostra um futuro triste, pessimista, no qual os homens sucumbem aos avanços da tecnologia, tornando-se meros escravos das máquinas." METROPOLIS Bart, you haven't seen this?? Great visuals that were ahead of their time and interesting ideas, but the story kind of left me cold. I think I need to rewatch this one sometime. #21"The film is a huge, rousing finale that resolves all plot twists, settles all accounts, reunites old friends and sweeps to a climax that all but blows the theater apart!" RETURN OF THE JEDI A worthy sequel and an overall damn fine movie. #21"Being sometimes grotesque but never scary, the movie gives up and decides, correctly, that it can be a very funny space comedy." ALIEN: RESURRECTION Don't hate it, don't love it. It's just kinda there. People, ROBOCOP?? ESCAPE FROM N.Y.?? Were they really that long ago?? #21"Ten minutes into this film and I wanted out too." Is this NO ESCAPE? The Ray Liotta movie?? That was awful! Someone voted for this? It's yet another MAD MAX rip-off, yet ironically, none of the MAD MAX movies made the countdown... #24"The biggest letdown since the Clinton presidency!" THE PHANTOM MENACE "Okay" movie that just had way too much to live up to. #24"Eyes will pop, nerves will jangle, thoughts will be provoked and other summer blockbusters will shrink in comparison. But to quote from one of the few cultural touchstones not referenced in this film: 'Houston, we've got a problem.'" MATRIX: RELOADED Was pretty good the first time I saw it, but by the second time I was already bored by it. And don't get me started on the third one. And you haven't seen #16?? PLANET OF THE APES?? Head... going... to... explode...

And you haven't seen #16?? PLANET OF THE APES?? Head... going... to... explode... I asked for this, didn't I? But hey: I saw Tim Burton's re-envisioning of it! ;D Oh, sorry Heineken... I can feel your head exploded right about NOW, eh? And one more thing: the last #21 is not No Escape. Any other guesses?

No, I wouldn't mind a pic of Vin either, but I've got plenty of those. And yes, I agree, Cole was great in PB. He's great in just about everything I've ever seen him in, esp. Higher Learning. And just for the record, I haven't seen Solaris either(never heard anything good about it) so it wasn't on my list either.

#21 - "Ten minutes into this film and I wanted out too" -
I'm guessing that's CUBE.
