#8?? Since #5 was a three-way tie shouldn't it be #6?? You know, this way we can have even more selections. ;D
Anyway, based on the clues for #8, my guess is MINORITY REPORT. Out of all the ones I've guessed, this is the one I'm the most unsure of.

Correct again!!! ;D The first title not on your personal list, isn't it? In fact, I was rather surprised you didn't include it there - was it disappointing to you? It was #4 on my list - higher than Blade Runner. And why it's #8 on the final list? Well... it's the eighth title from the top - I didn't want anyone to be confused with a Top 15 that actually has 17 titles (only a tie at number 15 would force me to do this).

"was it disappointing to you?"
No, not at all, I enjoyed the film alot and even bought the DVD, but unfortunately something had to be left off my list. Being a big Sci-Fi fan, it was one of many that didn't make it. I just felt that "MR" needs to "earn" its place on my "all-time favorites" list a little more by seeing how it ages and if it becomes a "true" classic worthy of such a high spot. I'm a little surprised that it's so high on the list above some others that I would've thought were sure bets. The first real surprise for me on this list.

Some more of them to come! "I just felt that "MR" needs to "earn" its place on my "all-time favorites" list a little more by seeing how it ages and if it becomes a "true" classic worthy of such a high spot." - We can try to make an update on this list in a year's time and see if Minority Report holds its position.

Based on the clues, I think #9 is John Carpenter's THE THING.

And one more time you're perfectly correct, Heineken! I think the clues I used for this one ("...badass monster...", especially) made it a bit easier to guess than some of the previous titles, but I can promise you a tough #10 for a change!

Is there some kind of prize awarded for most guessed correctly??

Is there some kind of prize awarded for most guessed correctly?? But of course! Let's say... A Tribute To The Beast CD copy? Back to the movies: do you think that #9 is cool enough for The Thing, Heineken? I must say I'm glad it made it to Top Ten - I had it on #8 myself.

It made it to #7 on my overall list, so that's very close.

Judging from the poor reviews, I gotta guess Equilibrium.
Critics hated it, but everyone who WASN'T a critic loved it. A true modern cult classic.
/still have yet to see it, but I read lots of reviews.

Critics hated it, but everyone who WASN'T a critic loved it. True. And yes: Equilibrium is our number 10. Personally I'm very glad because of it: it was #2 on my list. And again - it's a fresh movie but I think it's powerful enough to rank as high as it did. And - just like you said, Smitty - it's a modern classic.

Damn it!
I was in Cuba on honeymoon when you guys were doing this and I am most upset to not be part of it at all!!!
I am, however, extremely glad to see Minority Report and Equilibrium up there, as these movies will come to be classics.
Equilibrium is everthing the Matrix follow ups should have been. It is class.

Wow, EQUILIBRIUM, huh? I actually have not even seen this one yet, but if you guys think this highly of it, I'm definitely gonna have to check it out.
