Thanks for all the pieces of advice, guys! I'll try to use some of them at least! The only problem is that the TV-series episodes of Star Trek are difficult to get: I'm not sure any of the series you mentioned are right now being aired on Polish TV and the cable TV I've got is one of the poorest in the world so it won't help any. Also - no videos or DVD's with those to rent. Unless spacer has some episodes taped and is willing to rent, that is... I remember when I was in Austria in 1999, seeing ST:TNG on one of the German channels. Forget which one. Konnen Sie Deutsch?

The original series is now on DVD in box sets, and most, if not all, of the Next Generation is too.

Thanks, Quorth - but this would be too risky for me, buying the sets blind. After all, I only want to check whether I can start to like the series.

LOS ANGELES - An online casino has a piece of Capt. Kirk. Actor William Shatner has sold his kidney stone for $25,000, with the money going to a housing charity, it was announced Tuesday. Shatner reached agreement Monday to sell the stone to GoldenPalace.com. "This takes organ donors to a new height, to a new low, maybe. How much is a piece of me worth?" he said in a telephone interview.
GoldenPalace.com is noted for its collection of oddities, which includes a partially eaten cheese sandwich thought to contain the image of the Virgin Mary.
"This is a bold new addition to our fleet," GoldenPalace.com Chief Executive Officer Richard Rowe said in a statement.
The money will go to Habitat for Humanity, which builds houses for the needy.
"This would be the first Habitat for Humanity house built out of stone," joked Darren Julien, president of Los Angeles-based Julien's Auctions, which handled the sale.
Shatner, who played Kirk on the original "Star Trek" TV show and won an Emmy for his role on "Boston Legal," passed the stone last fall.
The stone was so big, Shatner said, "you'd want to wear it on your finger."
"If you subjected it to extreme heat, it might turn out to be a diamond," he added.
Shatner said the idea of selling the stone came up after "Boston Legal" raised $20,000 for Habitat for Humanity. With the money for the stone, Shatner said there is about enough funding to build half a house.
GoldenPalace.com originally offered $15,000 for the stone but Shatner turned it down, noting that his "Star Trek" tunics have commanded more than $100,000. His counteroffer was accepted.

Sapph, haven't you seen such stones? In Poland there are docs who have big collections of those stones. Some patients have collections of their own stuff that was found inside them ;D When cut and polished these stones are really beatiful and some can't be told apart from agates. I believe he did right selling it for a good cause.

I'm certain you wouldn't pass away looking at such pretty stones. ;D By the way have you heard about ambergris? It is a waxy grayish substance formed in the intestines of sperm whales and found floating at sea or washed ashore. It is added to perfumes to slow down the rate of evaporation. That's the politically - correct definition but really it is hardened shit created after a whale ate something that it can't digest. And this substance is highly expensive and added only to the best perfumes in the world which are later used by the most affluent chics unaware of its shitty origin. ;D

Jeez Spacer, you smooth talker. But I'm pretty sure Phoenix is already married. ;D No one can talk as smoothly as myself about certain matters that's true ;D In Russia under the rule of Stalin wives were obliged by the law to allow themselves to be shared. "Stranger in the strange land" by Heinlein advocates similar ideas this time women are allowed to do it by their free will. Hippies ideology strongly praise the free love and free exchange of partners. In some areas of Nepal and in other places under the Sun there is so called polyandry that is one women marries at least two men. It is a tradition since women are scarce there. But Sapph that was just a digression for Heineken, don't worry I don't have any plans to abduct you or to talk you into anything indecent , or in any way influence your monogamy. ;D But we have plenty in common to share especially in a medical field

No news in the world of Star Trek for a while, so here ya go.
From IMDB:
The hopes of millions of aging Trekkies that their revered movie/TV franchise would be revived got a boost today (Friday) when Daily Variety reported that Paramount has signed J.J. Abrams (Mission Impossible III) to produce and direct an 11th Star Trek feature. The trade paper said that the screenplay, to be written by MI3's Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, will concern the first meeting of James Kirk and Mr. Spock at the Starfleet Academy and their first mission. In effect, it revives a project called Star Trek: Beginnings that produced a script by Erik Jendresen. It was unclear what, if any, role longtime Star Trek executive producer Rick Berman would play in the new project.
