Of course, I was just kidding. Yes, I figured as much...it IS a funny pic though. He showed me some pics of some Vaders that didn't quite measure up, but hey, a fan is a fan right? But he showed me one pic of someone as Anakin who looked EXACTLY like Hayden Christianson...I was like ...and a pic of a Qui-Gon who looked just like Liam Neeson even if he wasn't in costume. Oh come on, you couldn't pick my friend out of the millions of Troopers there?? ;D Of course, every pic of himself he showed me he was posing w/ a Leia in the slave costume... I'm not even asking where your Vader tat is....

One tat attracts another... Do you have more SW tatoos, Heineken? Of course you don't have to mention the exact location ;D

On my arm, you sicko! heh...to paraphrase a song...I'm not sick, I'm just a little unwell. Anyway....I was reading some SW articles on MSN today & they had one where people e-mailed in their favorite scenes from the movies. So, knowing our penchant for polls around here, it would be cool to do one of our own for our fave scenes. I would do it but honestly don't have the time to organize all the votes & post the winners. So if anyone else has the time & would like to do it....

Pre-order your tickets yet? I pre-ordered mine!
I will be seeing Star Wars: Episode III tonight at 12:01am. One of the few movies of the year I had to pay for (or wait another 10 days, which I'm simply not willing to do), but all the same, I am incredibly stoked about this.

I saw EPIII midnight last night, Wednesday night/Thursday morning special screening. It ruled. It rocked. It rolled. Jedis died left and right. I loved it.

Empire Strikes Back is my favorite. There were some awesome action sequences, actual characterization, a love story that works, and Yoda. And the final lightsaber fight with Vader and Luke is the best one in the entire series. And it's one of the best sword fights in the history of film.

, a love story that works, . And the final lightsaber fight with Vader and Luke is the best one in the entire series. And it's one of the best sword fights in the history of film. Yeah, the love story in Ep's 1,2&3 kinda...fizzled. But essential to the plot, so we had to grin and bear it. I think Heineken summed it up the best in another thread...forget the love story & get back to the ass-kicking. ;D As far as the light saber duel debate....Luke & Vader's is undeniably classic, but Vader's & Obi-Wan's in ROTS is pretty darn kick-ass too. Also the Grevious/Obi-Wan battle was great... I almost went cross-eyed trying to keep up. Or that could've just been b/c the freakin' film was OUT OF FOCUS for half the movie.

Revenge of the Sith is definately an improvement on the flawed Attack ofv the Clones and the just poor Phantom Menace. NO Jar Jar Binks {well,I think I saw him right at thr end,I'm not sure},very little political debate, just loads and loads of action and a real dark tone in the second half. Christ,Anakin even kills kids! Even Hayden Christensen was pretty good. Terrific end battle,I don't think it went on too long as some claim,i like long fights. Only flaw, some of the CGI during that final fight with the lava was a bit shoddy. Otherwise,EXCELLENT,Lucas has redeemeed himself!

and a real dark tone in the second half. Ya know, I've heard people complain that the movie wasn't dark ENOUGH... they must've seen a different version of the movie than I did. Like you said, Anakin/Vader kills kids...how much darker can you get than that?? Emotionally, it's very dark....Padme' loses her husband (I'm talking the concept, not the actual acting... ), the destruction of Anakin & Obi-Wan's relationship, Anakin's reasoning for turning to the dark side (to save Padme). I dunno, maybe it was just more effective on me than other people.

You know, every single actor in these films are great actors. Even Hayden Christensen, see Life as a House and Shattered Glass, but they weren't used to their full potential in the first two. Haven't made up my mind in this one yet.

The prequels all suffered from one major problem:
George Lucas cannot do the following:
--Write believable dialogue --Write comedy --Write love stories --Direct emotion.
Luckily for us all, he can:
--Write Science Fiction --Direct Action --Write Action --Build/envision epic storylines --Make films with a heavy CG element --Make flashy films
His weaknesses are evident when you compare the original trilogy to the new one--Everything he suffered at that was done well before, was done by someone else. All the same, I still loved Episode III.
