I don't know if he actually meant that there WERE some guild members working on the movie, I think he just meant HE didnt' want to work on it illegally. I dunno...

Oldman was just strong enough not to accept the role in a Star Wars movie - I wonder what other actors decided to do it, illegal or not. And why is it illegal, since we're at it?

Lucas is the latest star for AFI Life award
George Lucas will be honored as the 2005 recipient of the American Film Institute's Life Achievement Award, which will be presented to him at a tribute dinner in June. Lucas' selection as the 33rd recipient of the award was announced Friday by Howard Stringer, chair of the AFI board of trustees. Lucas, whose place in popular culture is assured thanks to his phenomenally successful "Star Wars" movies, will mark one milestone on May 19 when 20th Century Fox releases the sixth and final "Star Wars" film, "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith." From what I've been hearing Episode III will leave a huge impact on the way we see special effects for future films, just as it did back in the early 80's. It seems Lucas has yet again pushed his CGI crew to do the impossible. After all the films done CGI over the past 15 or so years, I anxiously await to see Episode III more than before. I mean how much more improvement can be done?

I went with Jedi.
Has anyone heard the rumor about Lucas doing the final "after Return of the Jedi" trilogy? It sounds like he wants to do it now...
Hamill, Ford, Fisher, and Chewbacca would all be about the right age now...
(sorry if it was mentioned earlier, I didn't look through the entire thread)

I don't think another trilogy of movies will happen, but there are the consistent rumors that STAR WARS will live on as a television series. In what time period though, is the big question. During the time of the Clone Wars? Going back even before Episode I? Sometime after RETURN OF THE JEDI? All possibilities.

I only mention it because, of course, I heard a rumor that Lucas, who initially didn't want to finish the trilogy of trilogies, now feels energized to pull out the final 3 movies before he dies.
These have been in print form for a number of years, with, apparently, Han and Leia having twins and Luke going all dark-side. Sorry if I ruined that for anyone--someone else ruined it for me.

I guess he'll do it when time comes ;DHan and Leia having twins and Luke going all dark-side...Hamill, Ford, Fisher, and Chewbacca would all be about the right age now... With the same actors? Well the only nonpathetic way to do it is to borrow from The Space Cowboys done by Eastwood. If you think otherwise do tell me

Now would be the right time to do it with all the same old actors. They'd actually be about the right age for it, be a helluva historical point for motion pictures, too.

Well, maybe you're right Quorthon. They're not that old as Eastwood or Sutherland and makeup ladies can make miracles.
I can say something about it when I was on TV. I got serious skin problems (had chemical burns) blood tricled through my skin like it was no more, hadn't slept all night so additionally I looked like a zombie ghost. At first she didn't want to touch my face with any makeup stuff (she was afraid that it was allergic and I it may worsen, but I convinced her to do it ,I took all the responsibility) she thought for a while opened a few cabinets took away a small jar with somithing looking like cream and did some smudges on my face. It looked to me that it was definitely not sufficient and I warned everybody that was to watch my appearance against possible horrorsome and ugly effects. Everybody including me was shocked deeply that I looked perfectly normal without any trace of zombiness or bloody stains on my face.

I went with Jedi as my favourite. While I like then all,I find Star Wars a little primitive by comparison and Emipire drags a lot in the middle. I don't even mind the Ewoks that much, but it's the action, more than any other Star Wars film {love the speeder bike chase} and that poignant scene of Vader saving Luke from the Emperor and dying, that makes it for me.
As for the newer ones,Phantom I thought was VERY poor,Clones a bit better, but both films seem too long, badly paced and a bit like CGI showcases. Sith does look really good, maybe Lucas has finally regained his form as a director........

Hey guys, As The Board's resident STAR WARS geek, just wanted to let you know that I was at STAR WARS CELEBRATION III in Indianapolis, Indiana this past weekend for 2 1/2 days of Wookiees, Jawas & Jedi Knights. For those who don't know, SW CELEBRATION is basically a huge STAR WARS convention loaded with STAR WARS celebrity guests like Carrie (Leia) Fisher, Billy Dee (Lando) Williams, Ray (Maul) Park, etc., a huge dealers room where you can buy everything from vintage action figures to C-3PO Breakfast Cereal. There are tons of fans in costumes with Stormtroopers being one of the favorites. Crafts for the kids, actual SW props & costumes from the films and tons more to see and do. I had a blast meeting other STAR WARS fans & collectors from around the world, sitting in on presentations by people like SW producer Rick McCallum, uber collector & Lucasfilm employee Steve Sansweet and Warwick (Wicket the Ewok) Davis. I sat in the Vader Viper, watched fan films, added a few more collectibles to my collection, was entertained by a performance of "One-man STAR WARS Trilogy" and ate a lot of not-good-for-you-food. Here's a photo I took of one of the funniest things I saw while I was there. Poor Jar Jar. Even at a SW convention he gets no respect. Cheers!

That is hilarious! I had a few friends who travelled there and had similar sentiments on how awesome it was. I'm very jealous! I did however buy my ROTS tickets for the midnight showing. That is about all I can afford.
