No. not the Tarantino movie, but you know, like the magazines that are printed cheaply and have dozens of different stories. Does anyone else here read these?
I myself subscribe to Asimovs' and Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine, because those were really the only ones offered in the magazine sales my brother does for his school.
Lots of times the stories are really cool. Like I felt I knew Michael Jaspers before lots of people, same with Michael Swanwick before he made it big. Even Charles Stross, all of them getting appraise in the sci-fi literary world.
But then again, you get some issues that aren't the best.
So the question is, does anyone else here subscribe to pulp fiction magazines and if so, which ones? And how are the stories in there?

I had subscribed to such magazine some time ago - it was called Fenix - they then went broke and disappeared which is a pity; it introduced me to the world of Graham Masterton, Peter Straub, Clive Barker, several good sci-fi writers and many more others - really interesting stuff, well done, with lots of passion. It died probably because it looked TOO pulp and couldn't offer a proper place for the life-saving advertisements. Now the only magazine that I get and which comes near that is the one I'm writing reviews for - Nowa Fantastyka; they also publish lots of good sci-fi and horror short stories but they try to make their choices much more civilized that it was in the case of Fenix. And they would hate being called a "pulp" magazine, too.
