I'm reading Choke by Chuck Palahunick.
He's a strange author, but reading this right after House of Leaves...it feels rather normal and empty.

I'm about half way through Evil Eye now & I'm REALLY liking it. This may turn out to be my favorite one yet.

I'm reading Monty Python's Flying Circus - Just The Words right now. It's hilarious even if you have seen all these episodes already - so many details I've never noticed!

Yeah, I really like that this one isn't really bogged down w/ the history/flashback segments that his others are. Just gives enough history info so you know what's motivating the bad guy.

I'm starting some sterotypical fantasy (another Lord of the Rings knockoff) but still fun to read book.
Eldest by Christopher Paolini (I spelled it right because the book's on the desk).

jos - Blake's fine but I couldn't read just his stuff, no; Burroughs, I'm ashamed to admit, I have never read - I borrowed some of his books from the library once or twice but never got to reading any of them. What do you think is the best title to start with?
Livingdeadgirl - yes, I agree Evil Eye has the best balance between the historical and the present. Waiting for your final thoughts after you finish it!

It may be next week before I get to finish it with Christmas & the family being down and all I'll be pretty busy this weekend.

Woof, woof! Me good laddie now. Since I heard you took my gibberish personal, allow me to impose on you, because I am a impish little prankster I do not indulge in conventional talk along the lines of: what do you do?I kill people. What kind of people? The right ones.Do you like it?Sometimes.
And yet I must maintain a sense of archaic courtship in my very own way, or the others, perforce, will deem me to solemn and undeviating an individual. We true freaks (you haven´t seen a bit of insanity yet kiddo) are very strict in the matter of dress, carnal relations and conversing with angels whose works are only analytics. Perhaps you are tired of those other people and would like to go to your flat.May I offer to acompany you? My plymouth fury is parked right outside, well its actually a 26 year old barely functioning Yugo, but his engine is made of the heartbeats Almighty Bob worked billions of years on, not like your slavegod who faked you in one day.
Maybe I was rude, and excuse me for introding, but if it weren´t my clumsy words, I take it you are just some FLAGSUCKING HALF-WITS NO SENSE OF IRONY LOGIC AND HUMOR ANGLO SAXON KILLER WHORESSSSSS, again the primitive slavic bastard is tryin to get out, but the civilized, though totally boring and unsexy Alpgerman will keep him at bay missus.
So let me just recommend W.S. Burroughs The western lands to you, nothing quite like it Ma´am and its THE TRUTH.
Among crows even the hawk is an eagle girl, "babbling" ts, guess I am the asshole here.
Cheerio

NO SENSE OF IRONY LOGIC AND HUMOR Well, so far I haven't heard any logic or humor so I'll have to get back to ya on that one. And, sweetie, you can't say anything to me that I haven't already heard before while you were still in diapers so knock yourself out.

Hmmmm....
Well, back on topic, I've decided not to read Eldest (yet) but am going to read this book called HAR-BOILED WONDERLAND AND THE END OF THE WORLD by Haruki Murakami. A friend recommended it to me and it's won some prestigious Japanese book awards i guess.
Hmmmm, let's see.
