Roald Dahl's books were what I read when I was growing up, so that's probably one of the reasons why I am what I am.
I've torn through all these books a dozen of times and it's really difficult to pick just one I like above all the others.
The BFG is the first one I read and that'll always stay with me, but I think the one I like the most has to be Matilda. That one is great, with the little girl and her powers from reading. And Miss Honey and the Trucnchbull, who throws kids over fences and the Chockey and, well, who can forget the boy gorging on cake? The movie adaptation remained pretty faithful as well, but the magic of that book is still floating around in my head.
Yes, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has opened today, and it looks interesting. Tim Burton probably can do some justice to Mr. Dahl. . . .
But imagine my excitement when Wes Anderson, quite possibly my favorite filmmaker next to Spielberg, announced that his next movie is going to be The Fantastic Mr. Fox! I can't wait.
