I'd have to go with Cronenberg because he tries to make us the monsters. No, no, no, no, no, not like us trying to kill each other, but the ways we transform into mindless killing machines. Lynch tries to create surreality from normal life and Fincher tries to give us a mind-fuck. I like them all, still.  |

I do enjoy a good mind-fuck.
But if anything Lynch messes with you even more. I love David Lynch but I think he sets out to be weird (and he does a great job doing it).
Cronenburg...yeah, I'm just gonna agree with you on that one, frankenjohn.
But Fincher...he delivers. Great story, great style, great direction.
But I think there's something with the name David and filmmakers. Two of my fellow student filmmaking friends are named David and they both make some weird shit. Oh man.

The Movie Police is a thread in Off The Chest wherein we mortals admit to foolhardiness in the world of movie viewing--or lack of movie viewing. I've sent more than a few shocks through here because I haven't seen any of the Godfather movies or Titanic. ...you know, I still haven't gotten to any of those.... |
