I just read an anger-inducing piece of news that inspired me to start this thread. If there's a news story that just pisses you off, put it right here.
From IMDb.com:
Tucker Becomes Highest-Paid Actor, Says Report
"New Line has agreed to pay Chris Tucker $25 million to appear in Rush Hour 3, making him the highest-paid actor in Hollywood, according to FoxNews.com's Roger Friedman. Friedman commented that the figure is all the more remarkable considering the fact that Tucker has starred in only two other films -- both of them the Rush Hour movies. Friedman observed that Rush Hour 2 holds the record for the highest gross of any comedy and that the total worldwide take for the first two films is about $600 million. Both the previous Rush Hour also star Jackie Chan alongside Tucker."
WHAT. THE. FUCK.
As much as I liked the first two, is ANYONE really in a hurry for a third one? Because Chris Tucker is NOT worth the $25 million he's being paid. I'd love to be paid that much to scream annoyingly, "DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORDS THAT ARE COMING OUT OF MY MOUTH?" I wonder how much that movie's gonna make?
That's right, New Line. Keep throwing away you're money - you'll never have another Lord of the Rings.

I whole-heartedly agree with you on this, Smitty. No way that guy deserves more than Tom Hanks, who while I haven't seen a whole lot of his movies, his track reccord alone stands to demand that he be the top dog in Hollywood. By pushing him out of the way for this guy is a slap in his face. Tucker wasn't even that great in the second one (which I prefer to the first one in certain areas) and most of the time, his jokes fell flat. Chan was the only saving grace in there to make it more than watchable, but I don't agree with this at all. Any Black loud-mouth can fill his role; rewrite that contract at once.

No actor anywhere is worth $25 million.
Or for that matter, no actor is worth anywhere near half that amount. (Except maybe Bruce Campbell, who is luckily always value-priced) If they paid those egomaniacs less, we wouldn't have to spend so much to go to the theater.
