Yeah, so, this is where you come to complain when a movie doesn't open in your city/town on the date it's supposed to or if a DVD or CD is pushed back or whatever.
I'm putting this up because no Ft. Collins movie theater is showing Croenenburg's A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE yet. Damn.

In my town I always have to wait long for each Woody Allen movie - tough, as I'm always anxious to catch them while they're hot.
A History Of Violence? Oh yeah - I'm looking forward to it as well.

I'm not really sure who or how to be annoyed with my problem: I've discovered that there is no movie made that is too dark, too violent, too gory, too gross, too obcene for me to watch. Some movies are too crappy, yes, but never too extreme.
Is it me? Am I way too desensitized?
Or are filmmakers just not pushing those boundries enough?
I think it's the former. During Shaun of the Dead in the theater, people were reacting all over the place at the grossness of the blood and gore--"oooaaahhh!!" and "uuggghh!!" and "gross!" from people all over the place--and I thought there was way too little!
(I think I talked about this when I first joined this board...)

I've found the same thing with me, Quorth.

I think we are desensitized, for the most part.
But with the new remake of The Fog being PG-13 and all, well, obviously filmmakers just aren't willing to push those boundaries anymore. And there's a big annoyance for me--the remake of The Fog, PG-13.

And there's a big annoyance for me--the remake of The Fog, PG-13. There was nothing in the original that would get more than a PG-13. I can't see why THAT part is a problem. That it's even been made IS though.

The original "The Fog" actually was rated PG when first screened to the MPAA. I'm not mad a the remake for being PG-13. I'm just mad it's there.

You know, looking back, the original Fog was pretty tame over-all. It was R wasn't it? I could've sworn it was...
Remaking Carpenter films is becoming the "hip" thing to do, apparently. What's next? They Live 2007?

"The Fog" was R, but it was first rated PG.

I've got a new annoyance, people: The Fly -- 2006. That's right. Some dumbfuck thinks he has the right to remake a film perfected by Cronenberg. No thanks!
