Lately, I've become a bigger fan of war movies and have always liked big-assed epic battle films. Some westerns (like 2) but not many.
So, I was wondering what everyone thought about a section where we could talk about those subjects--since I think war/epics/westerns kind of stuff occasionally go hand-in-hand and I'm pretty sure there are fans of the stuff on here. Hell, what gore-hound horror fan hasn't been completely drawn in by some bloody war-epic like Saving Private Ryan, foaming mouth included?
Just a thought, you know, so when someone wants to bring up these kind of films, we don't overly clutter this (Off the Chest) section.
Plus, after I delve into my new Gladiator Extended Edition box set, I'm gonna want to talk about the damn thing!
So simply vote (if you want, of course--it's a "free internet"), on what you think should be done of such a section (War/Epic/Westerns).

Firstly, someone voted aginst the idea and didn't reveal itself Well, Quorth I'm not definitely against but do we need really such an extra secion about epic/war/western. Maybe. Maybe not. It depends on the general interest. Hmm... I personally would be interested in. O.K. you've got my vote president elect Quorth. But it's a tentative one so you should treat well your voter ;D

No offense, but I don't think it's neccesary. I love war movies, epics, etc., but I think that between "Off the Chest" and "Review Hell", there are already a couple of places where those types of movies can be discussed. Plus, I don't think enough of them are regularly made as say, sci-fi or comedies, that it needs a whole section to itself. But that's just my personal opinion.

That's why I figured sticking war/epic/westerns all together--because alone, none of them really have enough to denote an entire section. Or for that matter, a "general films" section that could be anything that isn't animated/horror/comedy/science fiction/cult. So I guess, there's where yer dramas could go, too. But, it's just a thought. That's why I went with the poll. WHooo! Democracy!!!

"Firstly, someone voted aginst the idea and didn't reveal itself" Yeah, that was me.. At last we shall reveal ourselves to the jedi.. at last we shall have revenge! I like big epic films but the fact is there isn't enough of them imo to discuss in a new section. Ok add war & westerns & you got your fill I guess. Maybe change one of the exsisting topics.. I dunno, I think The Board might look too cluttered with another section.

Well, it's 4:2 in favour of a new section so far. I'll be watching this thread, let's see what happens.

I agree fully but still some epics and war flicks are great masterpieces from the artistic viewpoint. Hollywood had always big problems with history and accurate facts. You can't prove that Star Trek won't happen. But Quorth I'd like that to happen but Star Trek is still our future not history. Are you the alien from the distant future. ;D

I think Hollywood's producers all too often have to struggle with Historical Accuracy over Entertainment. You can't prove that Star Trek won't happen.
