If there was one, tell people to bring a blanket and a pillow, plus plenty of food and drink...

Well who knows, a debate might be fun...
At any rate, apparently the wife and I have won 4 free tickets (two trips for two) to damn near anywhere (so far as we know) in the world for a couple of free vacations. Supposedly... It'll be a couple weeks before we know for sure what the deal is--I still think it might be a scam. We'll be halfway through our gift package of free shit and tickets and whatnot before they ask for a credit card number or try to sell us a time-share in a land over-run by mutant crab people or some shit... But supposedly, we get free airfare to whereever we want and either extremely low-cost or free hotel stay (at places like the Hilton and Radisson). Plus a Visa card with at least 50 bucks, or as high as 1000 on it. Probably, we'll get the one that has $51 on it....
So if it turns out to be legitamate, where does everyone think we should go? The wife wants to do Greece and I'd love to see Germany--but with so little money and time, foreign-language countries (since we only speak English) are probably going to be ruled out. And she's afraid to be overwhelmed in Japan. I think Alaska in summer would be beautiful or Australia or Hawaii in winter....
Any places you folks recommend outside of Canada, Mexico and America's lower 48?

I don't know... Spacer seems a lot smarter than me--his cranial cavern would appear to hold far more knowledge than my meager stegasaur-brain. [glow=red,2,300]You're far too modest, oh brother. ;D[/glow] Oh yeah, that plant above doesn't look like the one I was going to buy... It wasn't so leafy... Is my guess with the plant wrong or just your flower has fewer leaves?.

Any places you folks recommend outside of Canada, Mexico and America's lower 48? Poland! No, really: we've got some cool places here. And anyway, if you're in Germany it's just a step away from here, you'd have to come and visit spacer and me! Also recommended are Scotland and Sweden, two countries I love a pure love! Greece or Croatia are fine choices as well ...if you wanna swim or sunbathe all the time. As for the debate with spacer: believe it or not, I was once a witness of a man - who thought himself an expert in the field - being brought nearly to tears when discussing the influence of mobile phones on human health; in the end he just silently thanked spacer for smashing to pieces all his arguments and theories. But with Quorth it'd be different, I'm sure - just looking at your endless conversations here I know all would be peaceful and friendly.

Any places you folks recommend outside of Canada, Mexico and America's lower 48? Well, I don't want to disappoint you but I got plenty messages like that through all possible channels. I got it recorded on my automatic secretary, get it by snail post"you've won million...blah.. blah..., get calls " hello Sir, you've won a trip around the world, I used to have tons of Internet notifications to tell me similar things, now I don't cause I've installed anti-ad soft which kills that sonuvabitches. My reflexive reaction when I begin to hear you've won.. is to cut it off, and the second later I think about something else... Give me some more details, maybe I might be helpful to you. You know, my job is basically to detect fraud, scam and swindle. You are an honest person and such might be easily victimized so think twice before you sign up anything or take a credit or give a your credit card or anything like that.

It's similar, but the one I was going to buy had far fewer leaves and the flowers (wherein the bugs are digested) were taller and more slender.

You are an honest person and such might be easily victimized so think twice before you sign up anything or take a credit or give a your credit card or anything like that. I'm still skeptical myself. I've seen people swindled by pyramid schemes and shit like that before--nice, good people, too. But, this one apparently didn't come from nowhere, like some random "You've Won!" junk mail or a telemarketing call. Apparently, this was part of a drawing we entered during the Reniassance Fair in August. And we did sign up for a drawing or two. Of course, I could've sworn we entered one to win a car--but this vacation does sound familiar, too. Not this weekend, but the following one--we'll find out for sure what's going on with this thing. I already told my wife that I'm not handing them a credit card. Even if they want it just as a second form of ID--I've got my passport and Social Security Card--they can go off those. I actually suggested Poland to her--because it's a European country that has people we know! At least, know via the internet. I guess you could be running white slavery rings or drug-smuggling operations or something and I wouldn't know it.... But I do have my doubts that there's any white slavery or drug smuggling going on in your homes!

But I do have my doubts that there's any white slavery or drug smuggling going on in your homes! Bingo, you've got us red-handed me and Bart. Our admin is indeed a ringleader of a gang. I'm his right hand, a callous hitman who does not know the word like mercy. We do run slave trade and do smuggle drugs and sell them in kindergartens and primary schools. That's our niche. We sell young girls and boys to rich Africans and Arabs where they're being eaten after the owner got sexually bored with them. Besides, I work in a governmental agency, I'm incredibly crooked and bent official and I would sell my own sister if you offered me some modest bribe. In addition we are sometimes hired as killers by a Ruskies(Russian) mob to blow away some suckers. In free time we love to molest and abduct innocent girls and boys. Sometimes we slash them for fun. Now are you still willing to visit us knowing all the truth, do you have guts enough? ;D

I felt I needed a new avatar. That demon skull appears on every page of my website--and, so far, on all my personal business cards. One of my favorite drawings/works--and it was like a 30-second long sketch.
However, now I'm scared to go to Poland! You sound profoundly evil!!

Wow, this conversation turned dark rather quickly! haha All this talk of Ruskies and child torture has swayed my decision about Poland...LETS DO IT! Poland would be cool, but I told Nick that I could picture the whole trip. You 3 would be hanging out (probably having a thousand debates) while I was walking around Poland alone taking pictures. Repeat said scenario for 5 days...and that would be The Great Polish Excursion of 2006.

If you do decide to try Germany I wouldn't be too concerned about the language thing. I spent almost a week in Berlin and just about everyone I met spoke English. Of course, it's always a smart thing to learn a few choice phrases and words in whatever the native language is of wherever you're visiting. Haven't heard it mentioned, but Italy is really nice too. But there the language thing was a little more of a problem. One night I hailed a cab driver who didn't speak a lick of English. That was fun.

I've got good news for you:) Bart's wife is a mad photographer so she probably would be very happy to make photos with you while we'll be having endless debates or..... pub crawls and traditional Polish vodka training sessions:)
