The Palm Beach Post came up with their list of the 100 most underappreciated TV characters. Below are the top ten. Jan Brady gets the top spot. Who get the other 99? Tune in below.
2. Ethel Mertz (I Love Lucy) Why her: That voice when she called out "Fred!" She was far more than Lucy's frumpy straight woman. 3. Ed Norton (The Honeymooners) Why him: It was easy to overlook Art Carney's low-key brilliance while he was standing next to The Great One. 4. Betty Rubble (The Flintstones) Why her: She kept Barney in line when he went too far with the yabba-dabba-doin'. 5. Geeky tech people in labs (CSI, Crossing Jordan, etc.) Why them: They find the incriminating evidence, but almost never get the glory. 6. Huggy Bear (Starsky & Hutch) Why him: The two-bit snitch blabbed to The Man with such pimp-daddy flair. 7. Miss Ellie (Dallas) Why her: For staying incredibly calm in such a ridiculously dysfunctional family. 8. Clair Huxtable (The Cosby Show) Why her: Behind every strong man, there's a good, well, you know the saying. 9. Chuck Cunningham (Happy Days) Why him: Richie's older, college-bound brother was treated like an unwanted stepchild. The shame! 10. Tonto (The Lone Ranger) Why him: Loyal TV sidekicks never get respect. And he didn't have a cool mask, either. Here's a link to the rest of the list: www.palmbeachpost.com/tgif/content/custom/blogs/thompson/As always, if you don't see your favorite, feel free to add your own. Just to note, Michael Madsen's 'Mr. Chapel' character from "Vengeance Unlimited" came in at #91. ;D
