One rule: let's just choose sequels to mainstream movies. Meaning: no bad underground horror sequels, for instance (though Exorcist II: The Heretic sure qualifies - just no place for it in my Top 7).

I choose Jaws: The Revenge. Err wait a tick, don't I have that. Weakest Sequels.. hmm.. I would add Shrek 2 If thats not mainstream I don't know what is.

Termination:
High score on IMDb, and critics loved it too. Shrek 2 is NOT a weak sequel.

I voted for Hannibal. In fact, I enjoyed most of these sequels to some degree (haven't seen Batman & Robin, though), so I can't say I hate Hannibal. But a disappointment it was - and pretty huge for a follow up to Silence Of The Lambs.
Shrek 2? I don't think it's that bad, Termination.

I don't think Shrek 2 is a bad film, but it definitely falls short of laughs when comparing it to the first one. The 2 funniest scenes were;
1) The rescue of Shrek - Pinocchio wearing woman's underwear. 2) Knights - The spinoff of Cops.
Maybe because the first one was fresh & new to the silver screen I set my expectations too high for the sequel. Dunno, I'll watch it again.

I went with Speed 2. Not that I really wanted to see that movie, so it wasn't like a HUGE disappointment, but I remember thinking it was one of the lamest sequels I had ever seen. They didn't even attempt to make a good story. Just lots of action on boats and cheesy romance. BARF!

Speed 2 seemed alright when I first saw it at the theatre - then again, I don't belong to the fan club of the first Speed (one of the best action movies ever? Come on!), so maybe that's why the sequel didn't disappoint me?

I loved the irony of the title & the opening credits to the first film (Speed) I mean, I didn't time it, but I almost fell asleep. ;D

BATMAN & ROBIN
For these reasons: Unlike most of these titles, I actually paid to see it in a theater. My expectations were high. Just a plain stupid movie.
HANNIBAL: Disappointing, but not to the point of B & R. I wanted my money & my time back after viewing B & R. JAWS: THE REVENGE: I only caught the end of it, it was laughably bad, but I didn't pay to see it. And I wasn't expecting much anyway. SUPERMAN IV: Bad, but again, I wasn't expecting much after Part III, I've only seen it on cable. HIGHLANDER 2: Bad, but again, didn't pay to see it. SPEED 2: Bad, saw it on cable. TRAIL OF THE PINK PANTHER: Not even sure if I've seen this one. Was this the one where they used outtakes of Peter Sellers?
On SHREK 2: Not nearly one of the worst sequels I've ever seen, but I think it is vastly overrated. What about GODFATHER III? I think it's okay, but a lot of people really seemed to hate it.

TRAIL OF THE PINK PANTHER: Not even sure if I've seen this one. Was this the one where they used outtakes of Peter Sellers? That's the one. And Godfather III: much weaker than I and II, but I don't think it's a bad movie.

Batman and Robin. 1. I looked forward to that movie for a long time... and I really liked Batman Forever. 2. Didn't realize until I saw it, but who was the genius who cast AHNULD as Freeze? What, did this guy have a tumor or something? "IT'S NOT A TOOMAH!" 3. BATGIRL IS NOT ALFRED'S NIECE!!!!! SHE IS THE COMMISSIONER'S DAUGHTER!!!!! 4. The only cool line Freeze had: "Alright everyone, chill." After that, we were riddled with painfully bad one-liners like "FREEZE IN HELL, BATMAN!" ...Okay, "Winter has come at last" was pretty cool, too. But for the most part, the one-liners sucked. 5. There can only be one campy Batman, and that Batman's name is Adam West. Joel Schumacher didn't realize that there was a reason Tim Burton made Batman a dark movie. As for Speed 2, I gotta admit I liked it when I first saw it. I think I was 11, and I saw it in theaters. At the age of 11, the mind does not see MST3K-worthy inaccuracies. It just sees one big-ass boat crashing into a town. And it was the first Willem Dafoe movie I saw. But, even at the young age of 11, I wondered what happened to Keanu.

Did you like Batman Forever, Smitty? I must admit I only saw the first Batman movie, didn't even feel like watching Returns (Chris Walken, yeah, sure - but not looking good enough to bother with it).

Just because I liked Batman Forever doesn't mean I openly recommend it. But I'd definitely recommend Batman Returns. Tim Burton, man.
