I Love That Effing Zippy, my independent feature film, has been ell at times on my emotions. Being basically a one-man crew can be very challenging. The challenges have been: 1. trying to keep my actors on board. Some have left or can't make it of their own schedules. 2. Money, as usual. 3. The weather has not cooperated this year. I can't remember such a windy summer, but I still had to shoot. 4. Chronic pain, that's really taken its toll. 5. Changing the script constantly, and rewriting scenes with out actors, but trying to keep most of the characters. 6. There's definitely more, but I managing to get it done. The weird thing about the film, there is one swear word that is context. And that's the music intro to my film. The musician says "hell." Frick, anyway. Oh well, what the ell, I have to live with it. I should have a 1st rough cut done by the Sundance film Festival deadline. Not saying that it will be chosen, but I sure hope it does make it. www.wordsallowmotion.com m f

Yeah, good luck man. My own plans for an independent film crashed and burned. Mostly my fault as I was reliant on people I thought would be with me on it, and they all left me hanging.
On the upside, at least, I may actually have a decent change at being a freelance artist--I sold my first work two weeks ago for a whopping $50. The image sold is going to be used on a skateboard. On top of that, I finally was able to make some business cards and have a chance (however slim) to be a part of the local music scene making art or logos for local bands. My wife took pictures of local band Drones thursday night for free--so we're taking steps. Hopefully, they could lead to something good.
But again, good luck at Sundance--and if you don't make it in--remember that there's no shortage of film festivals floating around--just gotta look!

Good luck on your freelance and first sale. That's a business of hustle.
