I like Garfield! I've defended it before somewhere on the board. I just think it's a cute smaller kids movie. It's not meant to be watched by jaded adults, and the humor in it is pure innocent G-rated fun. I'm sure Bill Murray isn't embarrassed because the movie was a hit for the studio. Something like Cats vs. Dogs is much worse. I don't think that it's that I'm a "jaded adult". I watch, and own on dvd, quite a few of what would be considered "kid's movies", and I just found nothing to like about this flick. I think the TOY STORY movies, MONSTERS INC., BEAUTY & THE BEAST, THE LITTLE MERMAID, WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, THE WIZARD OF OZ, PINOCCHIO and a lot of other children's flicks are pretty brilliant. Maybe the "humor" in this one was just too kiddyish for me, but I swear, I didn't smile once in 30 minutes. And what I meant by Murray being embarassed is that I can't believe for one minute, that when he read that script he thought to himself, "This is genius! I'll do it!". The guy's just way too talented for this. For the record, CATS VS. DOGS sucked too. Which one sucked more? I don't know, I didn't finish watching that one either. ...so much anger.... Of course, there's always how I feel about AVP... I tend to sit through most crap, no matter the crappiness. Oftentimes, I just tune out of the movie and start doing other crap. Like reading lyrics to music that come with CD's. During the movie. But I try to finish most all of the shit I watch. Which is why I had some trouble coming up with good answers for this thread.

Okay, I have another one. GARFIELD. Based on the comic strip and animated series. I tried watching this last night, but dear God, I couldn't get past the first 30 minutes. Honestly, I should've turned it off after 10 minutes, but it was like a train wreck, I just coudn't turn away. Bill Murray provided Garfield's voice and he really should be embarassed. Well, I'm sure he collected a fat paycheck. Pure drivel. The first 30 minutes gets a 1/10. Did anybody actually watch this until the end?? Yep, I watched it (My sisters DvD) all the way through, you'd be surprised how much punishment the brain can take. ;D For example, Fat Albert HEY HEY HEY! OOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo that hurts the noggin. more so than watching 5 straight hours of Ren & Stimpy. *shrug* people need drugs, its right there man! If you don't get high watching all that crap, there's gotta be something wrong with ya. ;D

I smelled a rat in the case of Moulin Rouge and I kept far from it. I hate musicals anyway besides those few classics like Grease or West Side Story. The worst crap I saw in the theater was a French production 8 WOMEN. Extremely well cast. Let's imagine top 10 of all Hollywood female stars and hire 8 of them from 3rd to 10th place. Such was a case in 8 Women. But the story, plot and especially performance was so horrible that I really would prefer to have some of my vital body parts wired to the high-voltage truck battery instead of watching it. (It was kind of weird musical too)

I didn't like the movie, but no anger at all. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much and the only reason I even attempted to watch it was because it was on HBO. I wouldn't have paid to rent it or anything like that. I'm sure very young kids would probably find it cute. Oh, and Pheonix.

Today I turned off TAXI, the Queen Latifah, Jimmy Fallon movie, after about 35-40 minutes. Move along. Nothing to see here, but cliches and people screaming at each other. Think I'll go clip my toenails instead.

I think the last one I couldn't watch all the way through was Dude, Where's My Car.
