It has been a hell of a blockbuster week for my husband and I. Tuesday night we went and saw Without a Paddle. Should have been called Without a Clue, since that is what the script "writer's" are. Ok, it did have 2 funny scenes, but it was like 1.5 hours long. I know for a fact that I could be funny more than twice in that amount of time. Here I thought that with Burt Renolds having such a solid comedic background, we couldn't go wrong. Then there was our venture out last night. Why? Oh Why did we do it? WWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA We couldn't leave well enough alone and had to go see Exorcist: The Beginning. It's more like the End. There's really not much that I can say about it other than save your hard earned cash. You'd be better off donating it to a local church. God would smile down upon you and you wouldn't have to kick yourself in the ass. You have been warned (This part should have been read out loud with your best demon voice) Peace out y'all

Speaking of Exorcist: The Beginning...I was watching something on the E! channel last nite & they said something about Paul Schrader had shot a version of the movie & they didn't like it, so they fired him & Renny Harlin took over & completely re-shot the movie. I hadn't heard about any of this. I think they also said something about Schrader had given up the right to screen his movie in exchange for the right to be able to release his version on dvd, or something to that effect.

Sorry to hear about your movie going misadventures, Boonielicious, but I can't say I'm real surprised by EXORCIST: THE BEGINNING not being that great. I hope you didn't pay to see WITHOUT A PADDLE. Is Reynold's capitalizing on his having starred in DELIVERANCE by appearing in this movie? I don't know anything about it, but with the title, WITHOUT A PADDLE, I'm assuming it has something to do with canoes or white water rafting?? LDG, you're right about Renny Harlin taking over for Paul Schrader. That was the first sign of trouble with this movie. It'll be interesting to see if Schrader's version ever sees the light of day on DVD.

Call me whatever you like but I want to see a double DVD with Schrader's and Harlin's version; different actors, different mood, different plot and yet both are Exorcist: The Beginning! Ah, the magic of cinema... By the way, together with Smitty we've already started talking 'bout how we love this movie (in All Things Horror), so can you please not spoil our fun? ;D
