I heard it's good... Is it?
This story of a journalist (played by Hayden Christensen) doesn't sound like fun on paper but it's getting great reviews in my favourite magazines - and it is going to be released straight to DVD in Poland in a few days, so I'd like to know if it's worth a rent.

I've heard it's good as well, and that Anakin, er, I mean Hayden, is good in it, but I haven't seen it. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Isn't this the one based on a true story? The journalist who made up fake stories or something? If it's the same one, I watched a story about the real guy, pretty interesting.

Hey! Somebody said "Get out of here!" in the poll! ;D
That's cool enough but some reasons for it would be welcome, too.

It's a good movie: the performances are very convincing (if you hated Hayden in Attack Of The Clones it is your duty to check him out here to have a more balanced opinion on him; and let's not forget we also have Steve Zahn and Hank Azaria here!), the story is surprising and the pace never gets too slow. It's based on a real story of a young journalist writing fake stories for America's most respected paper (or so we are told), which on one hand is hardly believable and unfolds in a very interesting way, but on the other - provides a limited set of thrills as the makers can't go too far beyond what really happened (after all, this Glass is still around).
Worth renting if you feel like watching something quieter for a change.

Well, does he ever whip out a lightsaber to do in his enemies?? I might check it out then! "It's all Obi-Wan's fault that my fake stories have been found out!" ;D

Sadly - no such tricks. ;D
But you might be surprised how well it works, nevertheless.

So, I finally saw this a few weeks ago and thought I'd revive another old thread. It was good, but mostly the last half hour when his story started to unravel and he just started making up more lies to try to save his own ass. Hard to believe that this guy got away with writing fake stories for as long as he did. He really pulled out all the stops though, with the fake story notes, phone numbers, business cards, fictional people and even fake websites. There's a pretty good extra on the DVD. A segment they did on 60 MINUTES on the real Glass, where they interview him as well as some of his former co-workers. BTW, Hayden doesn't really look like the real guy at all. What's interesting about the 60 MINUTES interview is that the whole time, I'm wondering if this guy is being completely honest. I bet he has to go through that all the time now.

It's pretty good. I liked Peter Sarsgaard myself.
