I made myself a tough list here. So tough in fact, I cannot choose at this time which one I like the most. I mean, they're all great characters. Give me some time to evaluate. In the meantime, you might have an easier time deciding which one YOU like best.

Had to go w/ Ash, although it was close between him, The Bride & Mariachi.

Difficult indeed! I voted for the Bride but Ash and Jack Sparrow were just behind her.

He is. But he's hardly a 'hero', if you think about it. Even in Army Of Darkness, where he's at his most macho, he doesn't show much courage, strength or whatever else usually associated with being a hero.

Had to go with Jack Sparrow.
Will: "You Cheated!" Jack: *Shrugs* "Pirate."

"He is. But he's hardly a 'hero', if you think about it."
If you think about it, The Bride is just a villain getting revenge on other villains. Remember she was once a part of Bill's murderous gang. The only reason she takes them out is for revenge. We root for her because the story is about her, but really she's kind of an anti-hero. The lesser of evils if you will. It's almost like the way we root for Travolta and Jackson in PULP FICTION. These guys are scumbag hitmen, but because they're played by two charming stars, have witty dialogues, and are two of the main characters, we like them.
Same with Capt. Jack Sparrow. He's a pirate mostly out for himself. Therefore, an anti-hero at best.
Ash is actually a good guy battling the forces of evil. Whether he shows a lot of bravery or whatever is kind of besides the point. He's been thrown into an incredible situation and he does the best he can. Sounds like a hero to me. And he's funny. ;D

Well said Heineken. Speaking of Mr. Campbell, have you seen him as Elvis in 'Bubba Ho-Tep'? Pretty damn funny. That's two more characters I would nominate for heroes, Bruce as Elvis & Ossie Davis as JFK in that movie. Pretty good stuff!
