Some strange choices in this second top eight, in my opinion. I'd never expect La Reine Margot to become #14 epic movie of all time. Also, I wouldn't think the old Napoleon could make it to #15. And Malcolm X an epic?
Anyway: my choice is Apocalypse Now. Waiting for yours.

Went w/ Glory, although Apocalypse Now was close.

Had to go with GLORY as well. Fantastic movie and the only choice in this poll that could top APOCALYPSE NOW, another fantastic movie and my number two choice. Can we expect an Episode 3 in this series? ;D

Gotta go with Ran. Akira Kurosawa rules!

Can we expect an Episode 3 in this series? ;D Sure you can! When I was preparing this second poll I thought that the next eight movies after #16 sound much more 'epic' to me and it would be cool to go on with the idea. And you know what: I would never think 'Glory' can win here! In Poland it's not popular at all - I still haven't seen it!

I think it gained most of its popularity on home video. You have to add it to your "Must See" list along with DR. STRANGELOVE & T2. (BTW, how are the Movie Police treating you? We haven't heard anything from you on that front.)

(BTW, how are the Movie Police treating you? We haven't heard anything from you on that front.) Yeah... they become more and more relaxed, as the time passes... I mean, they see that I really do my best to get round to this T2 - I just don't want to rent a VHS and I wait for this Q-DVD to return on the shelf (there's just one copy at the place where I rent my DVD's). And 'Glory' - I'm not even sure they have it there! Will check it next time.

"Malcolm X" is over three hours long, I'm sure that you could technically call it that. How exactly do you determine what is in these polls? Just out of curiosity. There are a few suggestions for this poll that I'd like to throw around (mostly Westerns/War movies, but hey, those are my genres ;D).

Well, you can post your suggestions here, Leo, and I'll tell you whether they made it to the 50 Greatest Epic Movies list - if they did, we'll deal with them soon in one of the thread's many 'sequels'.
