Well? Your favourite epic movie (in the poll) is?
I'm not telling you my own choice yet, as I have to do some maths between two of them. Is it any easier for you, maybe?

I went with LOTR, the entire trilogy is on my top 10... Ok, I mashed them all into my third favorite movie of all time. They're really one movie if you think about it.

Man, why did you have to make this one so hard? Ultimately I picked SW, but GWTW & GF2 were really close.

OUATITW of course, though "Godfather II" and "Lawrence of Arabia" are excellent too. I've already vetted my feelings on the "Star Wars" films, and I've only seen "Fellowship" of the LOTR movies (though it was very good). Haven't any of the others though.

Hmm. I've got some issues with this topic and the choices in the poll. GODFATHER II, but not GODFATHER? No BRAVEHEART? No DANCES WITH WOLVES? No SAVING PRIVATE RYAN? I've never thought of STAR WARS as an "epic", but I guess if you put the entire trilogy together, then okay. Which, BTW, if you've only got '77-'80, then you've left out RETURN OF THE JEDI which was released in '83. Sorry to nitpick. I realize there are limits on how many choices can be included in a poll. This poll is screaming for a "Part 2". I had to go with STAR WARS. Surprised, huh? ;D

I thought you would have issues, Heineken! This isn't my choice, the eight movies in the poll - just the Top 8 of The 50 Greatest Epics list made by Total Film. Sure it's strange to see no signs of Godfather #1. Sure it's weird to see Return Of The Jedi being torn apart from the previous two movies. Braveheart is number 17 and Dances With Wolves is 18. But hey: we'll have a sequel to this poll, no problem. I'll just pick numbers 9-16 from the list and we'll see how controversial is that!

I thought you would have issues, Heineken! You know me too well Bart. ;D This isn't my choice, the eight movies in the poll - just the Top 8 of The 50 Greatest Epics list made by Total Film. Sure it's strange to see no signs of Godfather #1. Sure it's weird to see Return Of The Jedi being torn apart from the previous two movies. Braveheart is number 17 and Dances With Wolves is 18. Ah, I see. Maybe you could post the entire "Total Film" list just so we can fight it out amongst ourselves Gladiator-style? Speaking of which, I see GLADIATOR also didn't make the top 8, huh? But hey: we'll have a sequel to this poll, no problem. I'll just pick numbers 9-16 from the list and we'll see how controversial is that! Hmm, a sequel I'm looking forward to.

I wonder why they lumped together some of the series such as SW, well, except for Jedi, & not the others, such as only having GF2 & not the whole trilogy?

I figured they only allowed to join parts of a series if the movies didn't span more than three years (hence the full LOTR trilogy but only two Star Wars movies).
I eventually voted for Star Wars. The tough decision was between this and The Lord Of The Rings. Why did SW win in the end? Because I don't think LOTR has a character as cool as Han Solo, and because I like Empire more than any of the LOTR films. Plus there are the sentimental reasons, of course. Still - a tough choice.
