The Empire magazine presented its list of Cinema's Most Cheesy Moments some time ago, and the movies that are in the poll above are forming the Top 8 - with Independence Day's 'President Pullman Speech' being the winner.
Of course, you can disagree and give us some other cheeseful scene as your candidate for the grand prix; but still - choose one scene from the eight in the poll that you think shines there.
And the scenes in question are:
Independence Day: Pullman's 'We will not go quietly into the night!'
Top Gun: Val Kilmer's 'You can be my wingman any time'.
The Karate Kid: The winning, sobs of the defeated, the synths.
Four Weddings: Andie's 'Is it still raining? I hadn't noticed'.
Pearl Harbor: Kate Beckinsale's habit of reading letters in the sunset.
Stepmom: Singing to make cancer more friendly.
The Postman: Costner's 'I'm just the postman'.
An Officer And A Gentleman: The factory mates cheer Debra Winger.
My personal winner is Pearl Harbor - if only because its cheese was far less enjoyable than the kind with which - for instance - Independence Day was filled.

THE POSTMAN. The whole movie was cheese. And boring. As I mentioned somewhere else on this board. A movie should be pretty much anything, but boring.

He, he, heh... harsh on it, aren't you Heineken? ;D
In fact, I read an interview with Costner recently where he was trying to convince us that The Postman is a very good movie (it's still one of his personal favourites, it seems) but people were generally put off by the reviews and hardly anyone saw it...

Well, someone should pull Kev aside and whisper in his ear, "No Kevin. It's really not a good movie." I remember when he appeared on the David Letterman Show back then to promote THE POSTMAN and he promised the audience that they would enjoy this movie, that they would not be dissapointed. Well, I'm here to tell ya, you lied Kevin! I actually like a lot of Costner movies and feel bad for the run of bad luck he's had at the box office, but I can, in no way, support this movie.

Fair enough, Heineken I like Costner, too. As an actor he may suck from time to time (in Message In A Bottle he was killing me... same in Tin Cup - I can't see why some people like this movie so much) but he's an entertaining and honest interviewee and an actor who loves cinema and goes the hard way quite often.

As an actor he may suck from time to time See ROBIN HOOD. His "impression" of an English accent is pretty laughable. As long as he sticks with the "aw, shucks" kind of roles he's fine, but he has to stay far away from accents & dialects.

;D He was asking to forgive him for the Robin Hood accent in the interview I mentioned before... He wanted to have a voice coach but then had to let the guy go (on the request of a pissed off Kevin Reynolds) and decided to try and come up with the accent on his own

Why isn't Armageddon up there?
I loved Armageddon, it's on my top 100, but the whole "cookie sex" scene between Ben Affleck and Liv Tyler had to be one of the cheesiest scenes ever.

Hmm... maybe it really should be there. However, it didn't bother me as all-so-cheesy until people started pointing their fingers. Probably I liked Armageddon too much, and with Pearl Harbor I didn't have this problem.

It's difficult to be politically correct about this line if one saw Quentin's take on it in Sleep With Me... but at least you tried to keep us quiet, livingdeadgirl...
