Okay, so I haven't seen all of these. Then again: so what? I think that The Shipping News is a movie average enough not to find its way into any collection. Not even Termination's If I'd voted 'other' this would mean K-Pax: man, was I bored with this flick!

I also had to go w/ Shipping News. I wasn't really thrilled by K-Pax either, but I'll watch anything Spacey at least once. ;D On the flipside, Pay It Forward & A Time to Kill are two of my faves. But nothing can beat his performance in The Usual Suspects, Seven might be close but it was a smaller role. It's hard to pick an absolute favorite. But I guess that point is moot since this thread is about Spacey dvd's NOT to watch.

I liked Spacey best in Se7en - a small role but boy was it thrilling!
Out of the movies in this poll I liked two: A Time To Kill (you're not alone, livingdeadgirl!) and Outbreak.

Hmm.. Have not seen these nor own these Kevin Spacey flicks; Ordinary Decent Criminal Consenting Adults The Shipping News I am a fan of Spacey & own these titles; The Life of David Gale K-PAX Pay It Forward (Have yet to watch) American Beauty The Negotiator L.A. Confidential A Time to Kill Se7en The Usual Suspects Outbreak The RefI still think though you can't dismiss a film because of an actor's performance. You got to take the film at face value, not the actor who's in it. Otherwise, I would not own Se7en, Outbreak, A Time to Kill & L.A. Confidential. Its good to hear your guys feedback on The Shipping News cause I almost bought it blind. Would ya say that is one of his weakest films, out of the titles I mentioned above?

American Beauty is another excellent one....see, there's just too many to choose from. And two more that hardly get any mention....Glengarry Glen Ross & Hurly Burly. Both good films in my opinion.
Yeah, I would say Shipping News is pretty weak compared to the others mentioned.

Had to go with PAY IT FORWARD. Cheeze with a side of cornball, with a tall glass of shmaltz to wash it down. Sorry, but I just found this movie way too manipulative. Never saw SHIPPING NEWS, K-PAX or DAVID GALE. Don't remember much about OUTBREAK or TIME TO KILL, but I know they didn't irritate me like FORWARD. Spacey's best starring performance was in AMERICAN BEAUTY. He was also very good in USUAL SUSPECTS, GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS, SE7EN and L.A. CONFIDENTIAL. He's made enough really good movies to make up for some of the crap he's been in.

Haven't seen Pay It Forward. Not much missed, eh? The Shipping News was rather irritating, too, while K-Pax just plain boring. Then again, some people love the latter one.

See, L.A. Confidential is another one I almost forgot about til Heineken mentioned it. Another good one. I'm anxious to see his new Bobby Darrin film...

I like Kevin Spacey, but I haven't seen any of those--I must be out of the loop! Well, except Outbreak--that is the one about the killer virus with Dustin Rainman, right?
American Beauty, on the other hand, is his best film.

I declined to vote on this poll because I believe Kevin Spacey is among such good actors whose films might be better or worse but are always worth watching. K-Pax I haven't seen the whole thing only the second part but I strongly believe that it is indeed a good flick. I wasn't bored watching it, on the opposite I was thrilled and enjoyed it a lot. The flick was indeed without any smashing F/X or to tell the truth without any of it at all. The best part was in psychology, suspense- not that kind as in action flick but it was present. It was among the flicks which need the participation of the viewer but at the same time is not over-intellectualized. If you resort only to a shallow, hilarious, f/x-oriented, fast movies, yes, it definitely should be dull and uninteresting to you Se7en Full agreement with Bart and others who praised the small but so thrilling and crucial role of Kevin. Pay It Forward Yes it was definitely corny and a little bit pompous and pathetic but nevertheless it was a good cinema. And the plot was among few which should copied by people. I mean, usually movies praise ruthless pimps, ignorant winners or callous serial killers while here we could see something positive and good and it definitely wasn't dull at all.
