Doesn't that piss you off when an Anthrax-big band says "Ehh, we're not earning enough money, gotta have a split"; back when they were starting did they ever DREAM of selling as many albums as "We've Come For You All" sold?

Yes Bart. Yes it does. I am quite livid!!
Say, by any chance, did you ever hear Belladonna's solo stuff?

I did. I bought his second solo album - Spells Of Fear. And, you know, it's a good one but lacks the edge of Anthrax albums. I'd get his other two albums, too, if they were available somewhere.

Everything's available online these days, Bart. Just go to eBay or Amazon.com.
If I could, I'd sell a big ol' chunk of my liver or a kidney on eBay just to make some money so I can do what I want with my life.

Not on amazon, no. At least last time I checked it wasn't there. And I'm an eBay virgin, Quorth - not sure I want to pop the cherry with Joey Belladonna...

eBay is evil. My roomate at college years back showed it to me when the site was still new. God, I spent so much money on there buying...

I've just read this from John Bush:
The idea of this reunion tour was to generate a bunch of enthusiasm for the band. But if they get people excited, they're going to want a new record, so they're going to follow up with a new album with Joey," Bush says. "So for me, I look at it as it's over. The last thing I want to do is say, 'Hey, I'll be here if you want me.'
The morons!

Dammit!
I want John Bush back! Can you imagine how bad Sound of White Noise would've been if it had been Belladonna?

I seriously think they would have never recorded an album like Sound Of White Noise if Bella stayed with the band.
And really - I'm not surprised Bush is pissed that the band decided to start endlessly recycling the old stuff just after recording one of their best albums. He was perhaps the only one REALLY proud of the new material; the others were saying they were too, but they were clearly talking shit.

Oh hey, I never even heard about Belladonna leaving the band! Awesome!
Now all they need to do is get John Bush back!

If I may join in:
I grew up with the Belladonna Anthrax, which was still really good for my ignorant self, and when I found new albums that featured Bush, I was a little skeptical about what it would be, and while there's certainly highlights of the Bush catalog (Crush, Room for One More, Only, Inside Out) to me it doesn't come close to the greatness of the Belladonna material (A Skeleton in the Closet, Gung-Ho, I Am the Law, ADI/Horror of it All, Among the Living and AIR) which I really attribute to the different styles of singing. Belladonna is more of an 80s Thrash singer, not a whole lot of range and there's certainly moments where he's straining himself to hit rather rudimentary notes, while Bush is more of a post-modern Thrash band. Not really one to go at the hyperspeeds that the band was going at before, but perfect for the mid-tempo stuff that they were doing at the time. When they do decide to thrash it out (that covers album they did, the name escapes me now, I want to say The Two Greatest Evils but that's not right) it just didn't sound right. The 80s hyperspeed thrash they were doing at the time was perfect for what Belladonna has to offer as a vocalist, while Bush is a little more diversified in what he can do. He's not bad at going faster (which Crush and What Doesn't Die show) but he's clearly more at home in the mid-tempo area, and since he can do both somewhat adequately over doing one really well while forsaking the others, I'm all up for Bush coming back.

The Greater of Two Evils is the name of that album.
I like that release. But, I started out with Anthrax with John Bush and Sound of White Noise. Prior to that I had only received (a couple years earlier) Anthrax Live: The Island Years from BMG (when I was roped into that mess) and I hated that live album. It sounded like ass. It kept me turned off from the Thrax for a couple years. It wasn't until a friend I met in college introduced me to SoWN that I was sold on Anthrax. The pre-Bush albums I have are that horrible Live Album (just like DVD's and Video Games, I never get rid of my CD's), the uncensored Killer B's, Spreading the Disease, and Fistful of Metal (which is also pretty bad I think). I consider SoWN and Volume 8 to be their best albums.

You don't own Among the Living? I'm kinda shocked at that, and probably needs to be rectified soon.
Spreading isn't that bad, and it has a couple favorites on there (AIR, Medusa and Gung-Ho) and there's some really halfway decent songs on there. It's not as great as Among, but there's enough there. Never heard Fistful, but from what I've heard isn't that spectacular.
Sound I thought was pretty good on first listen, but I've somewhat soured on it in repeated listens. Strangely, when the songs on my player pop one of those on random, I enjoy them but then hearing the album in its entirety I'm not that into it. Seems weird. Never heard anything off Vol. 8 in a while, may need to go back to that one.

I often think of "Vol. 8" and "Spreading the Disease" (my first 'Thrax album ever) as my favourites. "Among the Living" is great, too, but I like the catchy melodies on "Spreading..." a bit better. "Fistful of Metal" is a guilty pleasure - I don't listen to it often, but when I do - I kinda enjoy it. But you know - up until the reunion crap Anthrax was on of my Top 5 bands, we'll see if they are able to sell me their new album.
And by the way: John Bush is NOT coming back.
