Joey Belladonna and Dan Spitz returned to Anthrax while - and here's a shocker! - John Bush and Rob Caggiano apparently got kicked out! On one hand: that's a dream come true to once again see and listen to a classic line-up, but on the other - it seems VERY, so to speak, anti-loyal towards Bush and Caggiano. What do you guys think?

Me no likey!! True, Joey was there first, but I thought Bush revitalized the band and he can sing circles around Belladonna.

Well, I could never decide whether I liked Joey or John better, but since their last album was a blast why change this? I mean, in a perfect world, we'd get two Anthraxes now - the old line-up and the new one - and one album a year, but I guess Bush is pretty mad at Ian and Benante now; and that's rather understandable - after all this talk about the dream team they have had since Bush joined and the comments on what a moron Joey was.

Damn!
I was hoping this was all rumor and speculation... or jokes. I don't mind Dan Spitz (even though he looks kinda fruity in that picture), but dammit, Bush can sing circles around Belladonna.
Ah, this sucks. Belladonna will ruin all the songs made great by Bush.

I was hoping this was all rumor and speculation... or jokes. Me too. It was announced around April 1st so I refused to believe it until I saw the pics. And by the way: I was missing Spitz's solos on the last albums, so it's kind of alright for him to come back. I'd be glad about Belladonna's return, too, if it didn't mean kicking John Bush straight in the nads.

Charlie Benante explains --
“I can relate to how some would see the situation as confusing. And the thing is I don’t want to confuse anybody with this situation. This is strictly a reunion that we wanted to do at this time, and nothing more. It was originally my idea for the reunion, but I wanted to do something where it was both Bush and Belladonna doing a set each. But that just didn’t come together. Originally Bush was involved in this reunion too. I want everyone to know that. He decided not to do it, or be a part of it because his wife (Tori) just had a baby (Jezebelle November Silvera Bush was born in late October 2004), and I think he wanted a little time out for that. So in the meantime, we’re currently just concentrating on this reunion. I’m sure everybody want’s to know what is going to happen here and what’s going to happen there, but I don’t know what to tell people. We’re just taking baby steps at the moment. Our whole summer is booked doing the reunion shows, and that will probably last right through to the end of the year. After that, I don’t know what will happen. All I can say is ask me at that point about what’s going on! (Laughs)”

Classic Anthrax songs are powerful.
Some have even healing power.
When I was living in the campus (in reality just a hostel) under my flat there was living a guy with his girl who graduated from music department and was very noisy. Especially pissing was that he played his trumpet quite often and of course he wasn't playing songs but was endlessly repeating the same note again and again. I was close to lunacy so I had to do something. And I used Anthrax cassette. I took the tape player, inserted it below the carpet and pump the volume up. When the tape ended he was healed. I never had to listen to the damn trumpet again. ;D

I used to have a neighbor that I had noise wars with at college. She was such a bitch.

The new/old Anthrax were in my town playing a club last Friday. Couldn't go, had to do the work thing.
So, what he's really saying is, "If we sell a shitload of tickets on this reunion tour then we'll keep Joey around indefinitely, and if the tour tanks, then Belladonna will be out on his ass and Bush will be back in." At least that's the way I interpreted it. ;D

Let's hope this tour year bombs for Anthrax so we can get John Bush back.
But rumor has it that Megadeth's MegaDave is putting together a tour called "Gigantour" which may include Anthrax, Testament, OverKill, Dream Theater, Symphony X (I think), Life of Agony (which I hope against, they suck), and some others. Possibly Dillinger Escape Plan if you can imagine that.

Strange vocals, yeah - but what can you do when the man has Sinead O'Connor as a role model?

I always saw John bush as the best vocalist Anthrax ever had, BUT and here is the but. When Joe Belladonna was in Anthrax, they were heavier and more Metal than they were with Bush in the ranks.
I dont care in the end, as long as they keep it metal!!!.
Gung Ho is the heaviest track they have ever done, and the re-recording of it, is even heavier! wooo!!!! ;D.
I also think that "We've come for you all" is the weakest Anthrax album to date. I can't listen to it, because it sounds too commercial. And it is too commercial when compared to everything else they have done.

Mind you - Gung Ho doesn't belong to my very favourite tracks by the band, but it is featured on my fave Anthrax ALBUM, so there you go. We've Come For You All I like a lot, by the way. Do I think it's commercial? Not as much as some albums by Metallica or Megadeth, but yeah - it is to some extend.

Nor is it my all time favourite song of thiers. But it is one of my favourite's. And for the record, Spreading The Disease is my favourite album as well. I also think that Amoung The Living is a WAY over hyped album, to say the least. It is good, like the rest of them. But I just dont find it to be worth the hype of "the best thrax cd to date". Sound Of White Noise is a better cd than Amoung, but then this is IMO only. To me, it is as commercial as anything and everything those two bands released. I just dont like it at all, not one song is appealing to me. And this is with more than one listen to it. It is like Risk or St Anger in every sense of the word. But hey, if you like it sir! that's fine, I dont have a problem with that, really, each to their own thing I say. I just find it to be the least "Anthrax" cd of the lot, so far anyway . Slightly off topic here: What is your worst Megadeth cd and worst tallica cd?. Back on topic again: Name 10 Anthrax songs you like as well please? I will give you 10 of mine (not my top 10, just 10). 1. Black Lodge. 2. Howling Furies. 3. Potters Field. 4. Catharsis. 5. Stealing From A Thief (plus the bonus song hidden at the end of it). 6. Aftershock. 7. Medusa. 8. The Enemy. 9. Gung Ho (re-recorded with John on vocals). 10. Deathrider (original & the re-recorded version).
