I figured it only natural that the movie the board is advertising have it's own thread.
Personally, I have no idea who this Kane person is the ad keeps referring to, but a friend tells me he's a wrestler of some sort. Not having watched it since I was 10, I can't validate this at all, but it does create a sort of two-sided issue for me. On the one hand, I hate the wrestler-turned-actor fad (as only Piper did it right) so this has a strike against it. Plus, from the ads, it appears as though it's a hulking brute killing people who he thinks are the ones who tormented him in his youth. No originality, and a motive that really should be stricken from the possible uses for serial killers from no one. Yet, this is a R-rated theatrically-released slasher that isn't a remake, which gets me interested in it.
Anyone else?

I'm looking forward to MSTing this sure-fire crapfest. It's being written by one of the WWE Smackdown writers (which hasn't been good in about 5 or 6 years), and a director who has a track record in the porn industry. Not to mention, it stars WWE's Kane (wrestling's most inconsistent character ever) as a serial killer, a role that very few people are going to take him seriously in.
I'll probably end up seeing it, but I know it's gonna be one of the year's worst films... and I'm using the term "film" lightly.

And Kane, or whatever his real name is, can't even act on the wrestling shows so what makes them think he can do it in a movie? Just shows that Vince McMahon has way too much money. I think I remember reading awhile ago that he was planning to do several movies starring some of the wrestlers. God forbid....

From what I've heard about it, it does seem like a potentially great MST3k type film, and that isn't a great thing. I think McMahon was one of the reasons I stopped watching wrestling, so after hearing the same conclusions from you two, the interest is vanishing. Still there, but not a whole lot.

I was a WCW guy back in the day. After Goldberg fell, wrestling kinda lost it's luster to me.
But this movie looks annoying. I can already see that "crazy-fast-camera" bullshit like they did in Saw. Desperate for something scary.
I didn't know Kane was in it, though. I thought it looked crappy beforehand. This just makes me shake my head in disbelief that Hollywood horror continues to just get crappier and crappier.
