The Blob 1988 Day of the Dead 1985 Army of Darkness Dracula Bram Stoker's Dracula (Coppola's) Mary Shelly's Frankenstein (Kenneth Branagh's) Bride of Frankenstein (193...damn!)
... we should do a "worst movies countdown" one of these days. Chronicle, like, the 20 worst films ever made according to the users of The Board. Like the old "guess the classic scene" game, but with totally shitty films. Wouldn't that be fun?
Anyone?

He said no remakes or sequels at the beginning, Phoenix, so that's why it's not on there and why all of us haven't said anything about it. Otherwise, that would be one I would chew him out for. Just so you know. Ah, my bad. That is what I get for my usual skimming. I'm terrible at that! I still think it should be on the list though. I think EXCEPTIONS should always be made. Just to get on my soapbox, why does it matter if it's a remake or sequel? The thread is titled 'Best of Horror' and I know The Thing is a lot better movie than some of those on the list. So the idea/concept was the same as the first move(and more importantly I guess, the title), so what? It's one of the best of the genre, and should make the list. So should Aliens. I just don't understand the list really - just because you make a crappy original horror movie, it shouldn't rate ABOVE a superior remake. That's my opinion. Also, widely hated I think here on the Board, I would throw in my vote for House of 1000 Corpses. It is original, with a hard R-rating and box office success, as well as a sequel to attest to it's popularity.

Thanks for all the opinions!
And there's one more question: should Prom Night be on the list or not?

Thanks for all the opinions! And there's one more question: should Prom Night be on the list or not? Not. At the very best it's a barely average Slasher with little in it worthwhile.

No, seen way better films from that time period that were way creepier and much more original.

Just saw Prom Night. Definitely NOT good enough to end up on the list. Thanks for the advice.

I've been making some more changes to the Best Of list and will soon put the final version of it here, so that everyone can tell me what they think of it.

Sweet shit.
However,
I will destroy the internet if Wrong Turn stayed up there.

Even if he replaced it with Saw?

I think you meant to say, "even if it took the place of Saw."
But, those are both truly awful movies that don't belong a top 100 horror list. Saw was a little more original, that's it.

Worry not, Quorth - Wrong Turn was one of the first titles to go. I thought I could replace it with Hostel but when this appeared not good enough I went with Creature From The Black Lagoon. A double reason to rejoice then!
And, you know, I still think Wrong Turn is a fine film (much better than Saw!), just not classic enough for the list and perhaps too controversial for some.

But L thought that you were to take one off from each decade you'd put one in from the same decade? Creature was from the 50s, while Wrong Turn was this century? I'm confuseed on that statement, Bart.
