DAWN OF THE THE DEAD 2- Well, it seems that Universal saw DOTD made quite a good amount of moolah for them, so they're comin' round for seconds instead of making a "Day of the Dead" remake.
However...
Genre favorite Steve Miner and the screenriter of "Final Destination" are ready to make an independent "Day of the Dead" remake. Hopefully, somewhere along the line, a major distributor will pick it up.
Both actually sound cool, but 1) do we really nead a sequel an 2) do we really need the "Day" remake being sent straight to video?

We don't need either.
There are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy to damn many remakes these days.
How about something original for once?

1) What's there left to tell. We know they all bite the bullet when they arrive on the island at the end. 2) Need more details to surface before I can accurately call them out on it.

A bit of info from Dark Horizons:
Day of the Dead: Fangoria reports that the action in the remake will be set on a military base, include the character of Bud and most definitely be Rated R.

Quorton is right, there are waayyy too many remakes these days... last I heard, they are preparing one of The Omen (But at least they are calling it "The Omen 666" so it won't be mistaken for the original by really clueless viewers. Sigh), one of "When a stranger calls" and even one of "Prom Night". And what isn't a remake is usually either a sequel or a really bad video game adaptation. Creativity isn't so much dead in Hollywood as it's an old zombie by now.
