Losing touch with the Hellraiser franchise, aren't you? Most people haven't yet seen the film #7 (Deader) and now the next one comes a-knocking.
Deader WAS a disappointment but it did have some redeeming values: Kari Wuhrer, good atmospheric beginning, some suspense, some craziness; what's left in Hellworld? Sadly, just the craziness of several scenes. As a bonus we get a hammy turn from Lance Henriksen, but it's not enough to make it all worthwhile. 3/10.

I'm one of those who lost touch with the movies. After the first two or three it just kinda fizzled...imo. It would be nice to see Lance's performance though.

For Henriksen it's almost a reprise of his John Milton role in Scream 3... just getting weirder by the end of the film.

Lost touch after Bloodlines. Sorry everybody. I started getting into "regular" films and my constant horror intake became immensley lighter.
Doesn't sound like I'm missing much.

No, you're not missing much with Hellworld; you would have enjoyed Deader much more, I guess (it's not so teenager-oriented), but even this I cannot wholeheartedly recommend.
Strange thing: Hellworld is getting much better reviews than Deader from what I've seen so far.

The reviewers probably don't see the greatness in Kari Wurher that you and I see, apparently.

This may be the reason, yeah. And they call Hellworld sexy because of one no-name woman showing her breasts for several seconds: Deader had Kari thrashing naked round her bathroom for godsakes - and long!

Ahh, see, well now I want to see Deader! She was the only good thing about "Eight Legged Freaks!"

Strange thing: Hellworld is getting much better reviews than Deader from what I've seen so far. I know, I keep reading the same thing myself. Some of them are actually making the movie sound pretty good. I've seen it, and it isn't all that bad. It's got a fast pace, lots of gore, and a cool plot, but the ending is a giant slap in the face. It, to me, seemed like they simply put an ending together for a film, then worked back to make sure that there was going to be some great twist. It almost worked, but the ending doesn't really fit in with the rest of the series. That was the one thing I didn't like about it. I still thought Deader was better. I'd recommend either of them to horror or Hellraiser fans.

Yeah, the ending of Hellworld... Some fans of the franchise already hate the film for the final twist alone - and I can see why. Personally, though, I was bored by the middle part of the film, so the weirder ending was a nice surprise.

The middle of the film was were I got into it, with the Cenobites coming out and starting to chase her. That was where it really got me when the action started going.
