The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning - could it be any good?
Well... it could've been. In my opinion, the first half an hour is quite decent - there's suspense, grittiness, nice OTT acting from the "bad guys", good photography. But the rest of the movie is so full of horror cliches that I just stopped caring for the good'n'pretty characters. A disappointment, since the remake of the original wasn't bad. 4/10

Well... I wasn't listening to the reviewers and went to see it at the theatre but, you know, since some other interesting films are hitting the theatres just right now - I'd strongly advise you to save the money and wait for the DVD.

I thought it was a waste of time, money, and bodies. Why see this crap when there was another movie JUST LIKE IT in theaters three years ago? Or better yet, when there's a 1974 original that was loads better? I hated this movie.

Not better than the remake, but it certainly held up even for me. I was actually more pissed off than the chick with the huge rack never went topless despite there being in a sex scene in an R-rated movie than anything which could be said to be important to the film itself, as it had enough gore, suspense and stalkings for me to stay interested, an with the last half being almost strictly reserved to chasing, I found it good. Just didn't resonate with me the way the remake did.
