Strange world, the world of tastes -- I, for one, didn't care too much about Frailty. It started nicely but then became much too predictable, together with the "twist" ending. Paxton delivered as an actor, though, and the scene we chose here as #9 IS powerful!
Now number 10 - the very last one, sadly. A toughie, I think?

Mmmm, hell, for number 10... it looks like a shot from the classic Evil Dead near the end.
I hate to nitpick, but that's a promotional shot for Frailty. Not a shot from the scene mentioned. But, what the hell, it works, right?

I'm going to guess The Shining because the background looks kinda like wallpaper, and it would be a travesty if that didn't make it.

Well, there you go. 14 of the scariest scenes ever...
Some comments of my own:
- I, too, am a bit sad that no scenes from The Shining made it to the list --it's not that the movie didn't get votes (quite the opposite)... only everyone chose a different scene. I guess that speaks well of the movie itself, as there's plenty of scary moments to choose from.
- Some of my own votes did make it. I'm especially happy that FRAILTY and the PSYCHO "mother scene" did make it -and for once, it wasn't the shower scene! (not that I don't like it, but it seems to pop up in every single "scary moments" list.
- Was quite surprised that both Ringu and The Ring made it (and so close to each other!), but at least Ringu did appear.
- As stated, it came out as a pretty eclectic (and contoversial) list, mixing the old with plenty of the new. Not bad at all, IMHO...
- I only wish, first, that even more people had sent in their lists (oh, well, maybe next time)... and that there had been at least one Eurohorror movie in there. Only one from Asia and another in black and white...
Oh, by the way, this isn't quite over yet. Stay tuned for a while...
