Dear all, When we fought over the scariest moments of the year 2004 it dawned on our good guy Fenril that a poll concerning the scariest scenes EVER could probably be a good idea. I agreed and hope most of you will too. The deal is: take your time to choose Top Ten Scariest Movie Moments and then send them to me IN A PRIVATE MESSAGE; if you choose Top Fifteen or Top Twenty - it's all good but all the movies placed on positions 10>>>20 are going to get the same score. To make things easier for you here's a good link for 100 Scariest Scenes chosen elsewhere: www.retrocrush.com/scary/index.html - just click on the pic and you'll get a handy description of each scene. You may or may not take advantage of this list - what interests us is the choice of OUR members, after all. Start taking your notes then, all you scary movies lovers!

I'll try to figure this out, but dammit! As a horror fan, and especially one so desensitized to the stuff, this is really bloody hard!

Nice idea but a really hard choice again. I won't have problems only with the top three

Hey, I'm sorry, I'm not just trying to be "Mr. Intarweb Tuff Guy," I really just don't get scared at movies anymore. I had some "startled" moments during Signs, but that's about it in the last few years.
In that sense, I think I may have come up with some dandys no one else even considered!

I really just don't get scared at movies anymore. I had some "startled" moments during Signs, but that's about it in the last few years. You know, that just might have more to do with the quality of horror movies nowadays than with your being "desentised". So, anyway, this project is finally underway. Cheers! BTW, since some of you already seem to have some problems choosing "scary moments", here's a tip (or maybe extra rule, your call): - You don't necessarily have to limit your choices to horror (or even suspense) movies; you may include a scene that scared you from a non-scary movie. For example, the car accident in "Adaptation" or the infamous hot tub scene in "About Schmidt" (well, some people seemed genuinely disturbed by it) --indeed, you'll notice that the list Bart has given you includes a couple G-rated movies. The idea here is precisely to see what scenes scared you, wether as a child or just yesterday. So, good luck, and we hope to be receiving your list soon...

Hey Bartwald, when's the list gonna be ready? Uh, oh... let's say... ten more days. I know it's a long time and already we got several very interesting lists, but this seems like the right stretch for everyone who wants to participate. Counting!

Heck, I think I had a good 5 or 6 alone watching the "Grudge" . Yeah I knew what was going to happen in a few of the scenes, but still it was good.
I glad the first Aliens film broke me into horror, and this when I was already older. I couldn't watch any stuff before that. Pathetic I would say, haha.

Good sir! Your 10 days are up!! If Bart wrote that on April the 9th, wouldn't his ten days be up on April the 19th? By my count, we stil have about three more days to go...
