Some movies that feature the Grim Reaper or Death are:
"THE SEVENTH SEAL" There's a sequence in the second BILL & TED movie that spoofs "THE SEVENTH SEAL" "MEET JOE BLACK" with Brad Pitt. Not a great movie, but you might get some ideas from it. Not a whole movie, but there's a sequence with the Grim Reaper in Monty Python's "THE MEANING OF LIFE". Good luck!

The Final Destination movies are also about the Grim Reaper, aren't they? Not GR in person but still. And they are pretty good.

I don't think this will help you or anything, and you won't find this film at IMDb.com or anything.
But last year, I made a film about the Grim Reaper. The plot was that Death is sick of people thinking he's a demon (especially because he's an angel) so he decides to retire and has to train a new Death (named Neo-Death, of course) before he goes.
It's kinda funny, had a Spike Jonze feel to it (though I hadn't see a Jonze movie before I made it), and it's pretty fun.
I know it won't help, but I thought it'd be fun for some shameless self-promotion.

That's good to hear 'pulpmariachi', I have a dark comedy on hand to, but it's a feature script. I just have to fill some comedy parts in act II becaused the scene is a long drama one with two guys just talking in a car.
My Grim Reaper is trying to make contact with one of the main characters but is having an unsuccessful time.

Speaking of a script, I've got one in mine. I already have pieces of dialogue and I can describe it as "Shaun of the Dead" meets "American Pie."

How about Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey? That's a good movie with the Grim Reaper in it. ;D

I considered these to be only moderately better than most of Hollywood's latest cookie-cutter crap with beautiful teenagers. If it's R rated, it's like FD, Scream, I Know What You Diddilly-Did, etc. If it's PG-13, it's just a Ring rip-off.

Thanks for all the reponses. Got my script in place now, and have most of actors on hand. Did a bit of shooting last fall. Have a short film for now.

Going to Quorthon, I think that PG-13 rather horror films aren't Ring knock-offs, but Sixth Sense knock-offs. I mean, after that movie struck it there came a horde of PG-13 rated "horror" movies (though I'd personally consider Sixth Sense more a "thriller," you know).

the best grim reaper i have ever seen in a movie was in The Cemetery Man (a.k.a. Dellamorte Dellamore). it is simply incredible. the protagonist has an interesting encounter with the reaper and it drastically his character.
