Religious fervor indeed.

You know, I just saw HIII about two months ago for the first time ever and, remembering that it is respected by some people I know, I tried to watch it with an open mind. But it didn't work - I was so bored by it that even the good scenes mentioned above by 42nd - the eye poking and skull snapping, for instance - couldn't impress me. And Tom Atkins may be a fine actor but he's not doing his best here, either, in my opinion.

Maybe that's anti-religious fervor? Or an anti-cult? Frankly I hadn't thought about that movie and it's annoying jingle, for a long time. But as soon as I recalled it, it easily won the poll for me. Like I said before, I haven't seen all in the series, and don't have any plans to, so maybe, some of the others in the series, would win the poll for me, but as it stands, that is the worst one, I've seen.

I went with Halloween H20, but I haven't seen Halloween 3...and I don't plan on it either.

Sad to see this hate for the excellent "Halloween 3"!! I know I've seen H3 once before, can't remember a damn thing about it though, you certainly take this 1/8 of the series to heart don't ya 42ndStreetFreak? Now I definitely want to see Halloween 3 again.. soon

I am a huge Halloween fan and part 5 was the worst imho. It was lame, the characters were kinda annoying, Michael Myers mask looked stupid, and I just didn't like it PERIOD. ;D
I really did like Halloween 3: Season of the Witch alot. It stepped away from the original tale which was great. If it had just been called Season of the Witch then people might have liked it better. I liked the storyline for the film alot with the tale of celtic and druid priests and Samhain. I thought that it was very well directed by Tommy Lee Wallace and the musical score in it by John Carpenter and Alan Howart was great as always. So what if Michael Myers wasn't in it, I still enjoyed it.
the best sequel in the series is Halloween 2 of course imho. Halloween 8 was very boring and I couldn't stand Busta Rhymes in it.

I liked the original concept that they started with HALLOWEEN III which was, that they were going to continue the HALLOWEEN franchise with a different horror movie every year that had nothing to do with Michael Myers and just call it "HALLOWEEN PART (?): Fill in the Blank". I just wish they'd started with a much stronger movie. Unfortunately, with the cold response to Part III, that original concept was abandoned. I would've preferred it to the endless Michael Myers sequels.

This doesn't exist for me since I don't think any of them are 'bad.' It's just a matter of ranking them against each other, and for that I'd say Part 5, even though I really don't hate it all that much, it's just that, with all the others on here actually being really good, that one falls to the bottom of the pile.
