About the upcoming Clive Barker's Plague:
Clive Barker's Midnight Picture Show has teamed with Armada Pictures to produce the SF horror thriller film Plague, Variety reported. Hal Masonberg and Teal Minton wrote the script, which is to be directed by Masonberg. The film is in preproduction for a February start, the trade paper reported.
Plague is set in the future, when a mysterious apocalypse has left the world's children comatose and unresponsive. Barker, Jorge Saralegui and Tim O'Hair are producing. Midnight Picture Show is the joint venture between Barker's Seraphim Films and Saralegui, the trade paper reported.
Barker (Hellraiser) is currently producing Dread for 20th Century Fox, based on his short story of the same name. He's also writing Tortured Souls for Universal and is attached to direct.

...he's currently involved in so many film projects, I wonder how he can keep track of them all and still plan to realease at least two more books in the next year.
Among those projects are definitely "Weaveworld" and "The thief of always", by the way, livingdeadgirl.

I voted for Nightbreed as Clive's best adapted work. That's probably because I loved reading "Cabal" when I was younger. Don't get me wrong, I love Hellraiser. I built a model of 'Pinhead' some 15 years ago. But I have to show my love for the character of Decker.

Yeah, Decker was def. a twisted piece of work. Bart had mentioned earlier in the thread that he liked all the creatures in the movie, or something to that effect...anyway, at one time I had a book that had drawings of every single creature in the movie, concept drawings, that were amazing. But I let a friend borrow it & he never returned it. My fave character from the movie was Peloquin.

True - I liked the creatures in Nighbreed a lot. And I liked the way it started - in a nicely mysterious and creepy way; but I think that the plot got out of hand somewhere near the middle and ceased being all that interesting to me.
Then again - I still think it's one of Barker's best adaptations.

I voted for Nightbreed, there are so many mythic elements to the story which I love. It does feel a little rushed in the second half, but I read somewhere that the movie was heavily cut by the studio before release. I think if they find the cut stuff and restore the film it could be a masterpiece.
Hellraiser and Candyman are good too- yeah ,Bernard Rose should do more movies [loved Immortal Beloved as well].

Hmm, Hellraiser or Candyman. Both are about the same: good for what they are, but definitely don't hold up to repeat viewings for me. I'd say it's Hellraiser by a hair because I think the series is better, but again, just by a hair.

Speaking of Barker adaptations... Syfy channel (I think) has been showing Midnigh Meat Train, which I think came out around '07 or so. Anyone here seen it, if so it is worth my time to watch it?

Awesome gore, utterly beyond shitty CGI and a twist ending so lame that High Tension looks down upon it and spits in superiority. It's a good time, though, so give it a shot but ignore just about every single review of this one as they sound tainted by having the name Clive Barker attached and they feel obligated to give it a good review in his honor.
