"The Hollywood Reporter reports that Keenen Ivory, Marlon and Shawn Wayans have struck a deal with Universal Pictures to develop a contemporary film version of "The Munsters," the classic television show which ran on CBS from 1964 to 1966.
The three brothers came up with the idea about a contemporary setting for the show while filming "White Chicks." The deal with Universal calls for them to pen the screenplay and produce with Rick Alvarez. Keenan Ivory Wayans may direct though he will not decide until the script is finished.
"The Munsters" was a look into the daily life of a family of friendly monsters who could never seem to fit in with society."
I soooo hope they don't f*ck this up...

"The three brothers came up with the idea about a contemporary setting for the show while filming "White Chicks."Maybe that's because they looked like The Munsters in that makeup. Yeah, I heard Stern talking about this project on his show this morning and he pretty much echoed what you think LDG. He wished them luck with the movie, but he doesn't think it's a good idea. Personally, I've been hoping for years for an urban remake of The Munsters! I can't wait. In case you couldn't tell, I was being sarcastic.

I echo your sentiments Smitty.....this show should not be touched by ANYONE. Of course, that's just my opinion b/c I've always loved the show.

I'd love to get it, but it just depends on how my funds are....as usual. Maybe I'll put it on my Christmas list.
