After his father is killed in what's ruled a house accident, teenaged Norman Bates and his domineering mother, Norma, move to White Pine Bay to start a new life in the hotel they have just purchased. Wait, we already know this story! Or, do we? For this time the town itself is anything but idyllic: there are all sorts of conspiracies lying around --like prostitution rings, blackmail scams, drug cartels and people being set on fire. Then there is Norman's half-brother, Dylan, who comes with a set of problems of his own. And Norma's secrets about what actually happened to her husband and to most men in her life. There's only so much Norman can do to protect his mother from such an hostile place. Then again, he's always been a natural with knives...
Surprisingly good mistery series that managed to be the prequel to "Psycho" (both the books and the movies) its' title announces and a fine thriller on its' own right, with complex acting from a solid cast and densely plotted storylines. More than worth a look.
