Good news for Craven's fans - me among them, of course:
Horror movie helmer Wes Craven has just attached himself to a new thriller set up at DreamWorks. RED EYE is the title of the project written by Carl Ellsworth, and it's about a woman taken hostage on an airplane who becomes an unwitting partner to a killer. The man tells the woman that he will kill her father unless she helps him murder a successful businessman.
The management firm of Benderspink is producing the project along with Craven's business partner Marianne Maddalena as well as Bonnie Curtis and Jim Lemley. Craven's last project, the werewolf thriller CURSED, recently wrapped filming after being shut down and extensively retooled by its studio, Dimension Films. Originally scheduled for an August 2003 release, CURSED has now been slotted for a February 25, 2005 opening.
