"Zombie Strippers" is an incredibly entertaining cheese-fest that has a lot going for it.
**SPOILERS**
In the near future, Maj. Camus, (Catero Colbert) Lt. Ryker, (Jen Alex Gonzalez) Rincon, (Billy Beck) Oxnard, (Travis Wood) and Birdflough, (Zak Kilberg) are hired to exterminate a group of people at a research facility that have become flesh-eating zombies. After completing the mission, they notice that one is missing, who has managed to seek shelter from a zombie bite inside an exclusive strip club. As the others in the club Lilith, (Roxy Saint) Sox, (Penny Drake) Jessy, (Jennifer Holland) Gaia, (Whitney Anderson) and newcomer Jeannie, (Shamron Moore) are upset over the treatment star Kat, (Jenna Jameson) is getting after she is accidentally bitten during a routine, owner Ian, (Robert Englund) tries to get them to be like her, and realize that she has become a zombie through the bite, and try to be like her and become infected as well. When this requires human flesh to satisfy their needs, the military return to do battle with the survivors in the strip-club to prevent the virus from spreading to the city.
The Good News: This here has a lot going for it, and makes it really enjoyable. The biggest part here is that the film decides to do something unique and novel with the zombie virus. This one has that part undone by the fact that it leads to an increase in stripping ability, and done by the reactions provided for the patrons, it's something that really feels unique and new. It's something new that hasn't been seen before and leads to some great moments later on as well, making it all the better that something happens, and it's quite a nice surprise to be able to see something that not only has something new and unique to it, but also makes for some really fun viewing since there's plenty to enjoy about the scenes that come from that. That would be the stripping scenes, and they're all quite fun and entertaining, with the right amount of sleaze from the nudity and the fact that, as zombies, that they're all dead and doing such maneuvers is what's so fun about the experience. As more and more of them are subjected to the experience, it makes them even more fun, and the sight of the naked flesh on display gives it all a really sleazy touch which is greatly appreciated. The first sequence with the zombie stripping, which is an incredibly energetic and rousing performance that is in such a stark contrast to the ones before which were showcased, is obviously done to make the scene so much more important in scope to what has come before, and is one of the film's best scenes in the strip club. Just as much fun is the incredibly creative and wild strip-off that the two zombies have out on the stage, where they try to out-strip the other that eventually turns into a wild brawl that involves some really outrageous moves in addition to knock-out brawling, which make it so much fun and really enjoyable. There's even more fun to be had in here, from the later scenes of them going crazy to exploiting the zombie stripping aspect with the battles with the creatures in the bowels of the facility, there's a tun of fun to be had in this one. Even better is when there's a big confrontation with the zombies, and there's a ton of gore in this that is really fun to behold. From ripping heads apart at the mouth, castrations, limbs ripped off, digging into stomachs and removing flesh, organs and much more, heads explode, scalps ripped off, gunshots into just about everything, and much, much more. This one has a lot of wonderful splatter from the bites as well, and mixed together with the wounds on the zombies once they're reanimated, make for a pretty bloody film. There's even a rather creepy opening segment where they're hunting zombies in a darkened lab, with only the lasers on their guns giving off light, and it's really effective sequence. Combined all this with it's rather goofy humor and it makes the film really enjoyable.
The Bad News: There isn't much wrong here at all. During the middle section, during the outbreak and being unsure of the consequences about the zombie virus leads to a brief shortage in the action. By making it mostly about the quest for understanding everything and turning the virus into something that's bigger than what it really is, and rather than actually making something out of it, seems thrown in for the pure reason of having a plot thread to make the movie try to be more than it really is. It's hardly worthwhile, and really sticks out in the film. The other problem is that there's a little too much sleaze for some to handle, as some of the stripping scenes go full frontal and even more, so it's something that some might not be able to handle. These here are the film's only flaws.
The Final Verdict: A thoroughly enjoyable B-movie cheese-fest of the greatest homages of the past, this one provides plenty of entertainment throughout. Highly recommended to those who have a lot for these kinds of films, have a love for seeing a lot of blood and gore in films or looking for low-rent porn, otherwise don't bother.
