From Season 3-5, I thought this was the best show on TV, and it was definitely my favorite at the time, but a couple of interesting factors have since come forward:
1. The show since has stagnated. Alan still won't move out (that thing with Lyndsey won't last, believe me), Jake's still the same underachieving smart-ass and Charlie's still the same. That's been the butt of all the jokes for the past couple years. It's been exactly the same for several seasons and it never really did anything really big like it did with the earlier seasons.
2. The Big Bang Theory came on and almost immediately replaced this as my favorite show on TV, and now it's looking likely it'll change over to Modern Family.
As for this one currently, I still watch it as I have nothing else to watch on TV at 9:00 on a Monday night, but it's no longer the show I wait around for like I used to.
I went so-so in the vote, BTW.

Someone voted "terrible", huh?
I grew to like the series quite a bit and I think season 7 is just as funny as the previous ones. True, I've been watching the previous seasons on and off, but in my opinion there's no weak episode in 7 - and sometimes I've been laughing out loud which honestly doesn't happen all that often. I'm a rather grim guy, you know that...
The extras are funny, too, if not too plentiful: Sheen swears a lot on the gag reel and it's good to see his character's ex-girlfriends gossipping about him in a short doc.

Well, to me, I love the first five seasons (and 3-5, especially) but really, it just seems to be the same old story nowadays: Alan's still freeloading, Jake's still an underachieving dumbass and Charlie's still the same womanizing, hard-drinking over-the-hill pretty boy who's still trying to live a life he used to years ago. I actually wanted Chelsea to get married, it would've seemed like a goldmine for the series (how does he stay married and faithful to just her when he has his past continually creeping up on him) and while the Alan/Jake stuff would need work, it would be a good start for the show.
Like I said, The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family are making serious cases for me as for being the better show on nowadays, I think both are much better.
