Must be, I've never heard of it. What's it about?

Baxter (1989, directed by Jérome Boivin); an ultra-smart bull-terrier grows dissatisfied with his human family, so he arranges their deaths and jumps from master to master until he finds a kid whose natural evil impresses even him.
Caught this one in a film festival some time ago. Unusual for sure, with some odd touches (the dog is also our narrator), which is what appealed to me about it.

Well, leave it to the French to do something like that, I'll have to add it to the list then.

Obviously, I haven't seen all of the above, but from the ones I did see my favourite is Cujo (why so many people seem to hate it, I just don't know), and Cerberus is the shittiest. Rottweiler isn't a masterpiece, either, but at least there's some lovely craziness to it.

I liked Cujo; I think the problem with this one is that it doesn't quite resemble the (very popular) book it's based on. Specifically, they gave the movie a slightly less downbeat ending.
As for the French movies, that is one of the reasons I love indepentent cinema in general; they have some of the best (or more offbeat) plots and premises.

Also, I think I've seen The breed... that South African movie with Michelle Rodriguez, right? Not at all bad, very low budget but well done.

Yeah, The Breed version listed here stars her, can't say it's South African as that would be news to me but that is indeed the one listed. There's also a vampire film with the same name released a few years earlier than that one, but it's a vampire film so it's not listed.
The problem I had with Cujo was that it was just dreadfully dull when the dog wasn't on-screen, and most times it was as well, as it just lay there watching over them. It only charges the car a couple times, not nearly enough action for me to stay invested in what's going on.
Glad you mentioned Rottweiler, Bart, that's some good cheesy fun there. Plus, Paul Naschy vs a robotic killer dog equals win in my book, and throw in some graphic kills and nudity and I call it a blast.
