Best Foreign Language Film of the Year
Best Animated Feature Film of the Year
*Will be excluded if no nominees are named.
RULES:
1. All films must have been released theatrically, either limited or wide, in the year 2008. As seen by such films as Crash, Film Festivals do NOT count as theatrical releases. So if a film is marked as being produced in 2007, and has not been released theatrically until 2008, it is still eligible. However, if it was released limited in 2007, it is a 2007 film and cannot be counted.
2. Fuck the Academy. Original Song will have FIVE nominees. However, only ONE will be considered per picture. There will be a tiebreaker vote if more than one song from a single movie is thrown in the mix. Also, it MUST be originally written for the film. "Featured" is not the same thing as "original".
3. There are no wrong answers here. Don't be afraid to think of blockbusters and whatnot. Whatever YOUR favorites were should stick. Don't vote for what you think everyone wants you to vote for. Stick to your guns. This is anonymous anyway.
4. Foreign Language means any film that is not in English. There are many films made within the United States in other languages. Likewise, some films made outside the U.S. (or England, Canada, etc.) are made entirely in English. The former are eligible, the latter are not.
5. Have fun with this! The Academy has disappointed us this year. Let's do them one better, shall we?
