Alright, couch potatoes, here's the thread tailor-made for you. Seen any good shows lately? Catch the big game? Finally getting around to watching all those old CHEERS episodes on DVD? Whatever it is you're watching, let us know. If it originally aired on television, ie: sitcoms, dramas, mini-series, whatever, we wanna hear about it.

Most of my regular shows have been repeats lately, but I've been watching NFL playoffs and college bowl games anyway so... Last night watched the BCS championship game, which Florida won. Go SEC! Not particularly fond of the Gators but have to root for my conference.... Oh, and I did watch the season premiere of Ghost Hunters International wednesday night.

FUTURAMA: BENDER'S GAME (3rd direct-to-dvd feature)
DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES
AT THE MOVIES (The 2 critics picked their "Worst of 2008". Some movies that made their lists: MEET DAVE, TWILIGHT, BABYLON A.D., MAMA MIA!, THE WOMEN, MAD MONEY, THE MUMMY: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR, BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA, MAX PAYNE, REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA, INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL, etc.) I completely disagree with Crystal Skull making the list. It's my least favorite of the series, but one of the ten worst of the year? That's really nonsense.

SMALLVILLE THE RUTLES: ALL YOU NEED IS CASH (1978 made-for-tv "mockumentary" about a mop-topped rock group from Liverpool, England. Sounds familiar somehow. Eric Idle of Monty Python was the brains behind this, the original Spinal Tap, and it's pretty funny, some of it hilarious. Hadn't seen it since it first aired in '78 and my wife had never seen it, so seeing as how I'm doing the Music Biz as the Genre of the Month, I thought it was time to re-watch it. Spoofs the Beatles entire career, from the early days playing at The Cavern to their movies, to their marriages and the eventual break-up of the band. Warning: I think it's really funny, but I'm a huge Beatles fan. If you're not a huge Beatles fan, or at least really familiar with their story, I think a lot of the humor will go right over your head.)

The usual, plus the series premiere of The Beast, A&E's new show starring Patrick Swayze as a somewhat wayward uncercover FBI agent. Not too bad...

John Adams - A mini-series that makes me want to go out and watch more mini-series. Paul Giamatti is excellent in the title role. Laura Linney, David Morse and Tom Wilkinson make up an excellent supporting cast. I'm sure not a lot of people have the patience for it, but if this were theatrically released, I'd watch all eight hours (approximately) of it on the big screen... with intermissions of course. It's that good.
