I kinda liked "Driller Killer" (an Abel Fererra film), but his "Ms .45" is much-better! Possibly my favorite revenge-film. Yeah, no need to remake "Day of the Dead." It was done correctly the fist-time-around by the right director. I thought "Land of the Dead" was superb, if a little short! The DVD drops here middle of next-month. Looking at New Orleans, "Land of the Dead" doesn't seem so distant as fiction anymore. Or maybe "Escape from New York." Sigh...

Day Of The Dead 2 is by no means a remake or even a sequel to Romero's Day Of The Dead. It's more of a prequel to Night Of The Living Dead, only titled Day 'cause the makers owned rights to this title.
Agree about Land Of The Dead, mabuse.

No slams meant, but I LOVE "Driller Killer." Is it because Abel Ferrera starred-in and directed it? Probably. Is it because I know the frustrations of solitary-artists? Probably? Is it because I love the era it was made-in (1977-79)? Definitely. The coverage of the punk and post-punk scenes in the film was reason-enough for me to love it. It is slow, there is no-doubt, but I've always loved shit this grubby and raw. It would be nice to see more of this type of film again, in whatever-form. Just make it more even-paced, I agree. I could honestly understand why an artist would do what his character does, though I don't condone drilling people to-death! ;D Gotta love a film that makes you want to shower-afterwards (like A Dirty Shame). BUt, I mean that in a GOOD way. Anyway, I think 1976-1982 were a real watershed in Western culture, and I miss that dynamic in art. We don't have that now.

About Driller Killer: I heard that during the DVD commentary Abel Ferrara has the guts to suddenly stop talking and fall asleep... always wondered if that's true.

Isn't the Driller Killer actually Slumber Party Massacre III? That movie was atrocious. Ha ha and what the hell is Ankle Biters?? Haven't seen Slumber III but I don't think it's the same movie as Driller Killer - one of the infamous "nasties" directed by Abel Ferrara. And Ankle Biters is probably another film that wants to join our tiny terrors poll. Okay, Driller Killer and the Slumber Party Massacre series are seperate entities. Odd that two different films--or one film and a series both feature someone killing with a drill. Jigsaws get no respect.
