Boom Blox ReviewThe first review I've seen for Boom Blox gives it an extremely impressive A+ rating--and from 1up.com--a place with the laziest most anti-Wiimote reviewers around. Even the slightest movement to play a game seems to turn into a whiney tirade by them (yeesh). Anyway, Boom Blox is a massive, deeply involved puzzle game that relies heavily on realistic physics supplied by the Havoc physics engine--popular for it's realistic physics use in many First Person Shooters, most notably, the Half-Life series. The Havoc engine also found it's way into Smash Bros recently, of all things. In the simplest form, Boom Blox is like a deeper, more involved digital Jenga, but it can be massively expanded and is apparently rife with possibilities for creative folks. For instance, you can build huge, elaborate Rube Goldberg machines. I initially dismissed the crap out of this as a misguided effort to make a puny "casual" game on the part of Spielberg. But after reading this review and going over some videos of the game and previews, I'm practically sold on it. The physics look just amazing.
