I just watched several episodes of the series - and am quite disappointed with it. First of all: the prison setting is totally unconvincing. Too clean, too lax, and waaay too PC, while most of the prisoners seem to be too kind-hearted to end up in such a place. What's happening outside the prison is a bit more interesting but almost just as phony: the kid being able to fool the assassins so easily? Give me a (prison) break...
Robin Tunney is the best the show has for it.

I like this show. It's pure silliness in many ways.
And if you watch a little of the later episodes it gets a lot less PC Bart. There is murder and man-rape galore, as well as some other nasties.
Still, it's totally unbelievable and I've approached it from that stand-point so I've sort of just accepted it and sit back and watch.

I just saw episode 13 and have to say that it gets better and better. Still - it's all too "clean" for a movie about a high security prison and all these hairy beasts behind the bars; the taking out of the eye, for example, was a very nasty idea - but you'd think the surgery went as smooth as if handled by a professional doctor, just because they failed to show some more of it.

Saw the whole first season. It's very uneven, all in all - some episodes were thrilling, some were annoying. And this ending... dude!
